DarthMaim defeats gandalfthegreatestwizard 177-98 (3-1) on Desert Palace.
Once again, my horrible luck at the map roll continues, as I lose the roll once again, so we're playing on Desert Palace. For my versatility, I bring in Han Honorable Scoundrel and Princess Leia, Hero of Endor. I choose the right side middle to set-up my guys and he then sets-up left side middle. Arca spirits Krynda Draay.
Rnds 1-3; No action in these rounds, other than my team sitting/standing in gambit, right of the middle door ( Chewie roars damaging Leia ) and Gandalf's guys sitting/standing on the other side of the wall, not in gambit, with Krynda Draay pitching a tent in the 1 gambit square, adjacent to the wall in the upper left side of gambit. 36-36.
Rnd 4; We activate our guys, and as he out-activates me, he decides that it is time to draw a line in the sand and draw first blood. When my team is completely activated, he activates Arca who activates "Force Farsight" and moves Feln 6 squares towards the middle door. Then the Covenent Sentinel moves 12 all the way to the middle door and blows it! Then Feln moves 6 squares, bases Chewie, activates "Overwhelming Force" and sizzles Wookiee fur and flesh for 80 dmg! ( ouch ) Chewie is down to 60 dmg

. The round ends with us both getting gambit.
Rnd 5; I win init, but Draay says "no, no, no" and she "Senses the Future", and so Gandalf wins init

. However, thanks to "Look out, He's Loose!", and "Never Upset a Wookiee", Chewie takes 2 bites out of Feln, and he's down to 40 hp. Then with 2 mighty "Overwhelming Force" swings, Feln slains the mighty Chewbacca. He then retreats, with the "Jaws" of a mighty Ugnaught, clenched to his calf muscle, the uggie crits him for 20 dmg, bringing him down to 20hp, and with that, Feln limps away to temporary safety! Then Gandalf sacc's an XT to activate Xamar to move up to block anyone who tries to come after Feln. Luke seeing Chewie ascend to "Wookiee Tree Heavens", moves with a purpose to get revenge on the closest enemy which would be the Covenant Defender, and he says "2 can play the Overwehelming Force card" and strikes him down with 3 mighty swings of his LS. Han, also furious, moves to blast whoever he can, and greater mobiles to target the Covenant Sentinel, blasting him 2 times ( he fails his LD save ), and he dies at the smoldering door that he blew up at the end of the last round. We both activate the rest of our support troops, and Leia, does her neat little movement trick, and Luke and Han both move up 6 squares, Luke basing Xamar, and Han, getting into a position where he can move to attack next round. We both get gambit and Gandalf is ahead on points, 89-77.
Rnd 6; Gandalf wins init, despite my 2 recon rolls. Xamar whacks Luke, and thankfully I got my low rolls out of the way at init, and Luke makes his Djem So save, and hits him back 2 times ( Xamar LD'ed 1 of them - so he's down to 50hp ). Then Xamar missed his 2nd attack. Luke's turn

. Luke decides that the pastures are greener on the other side of the wall, so he breaks disengages with Xamar ( Gandalf decides not to tempt Xamar's fate of dying to Djem so, so he holster's his LS ) and moves 6 around him and bases Raana Tey, and with 3 "Overwhelming Force" swings, she dies. Han, wants some revenge on Feln for ending his best friend, and he activates and moves 6, just in Los of him, but 2 blasts miss, as Opportunist wasn't in play. Q'Anilia spends Force to move extra and bases Han and slices him 2 times for 40 dmg ( down to 50hp ). Arca "Force Farsights" Feln to within striking distance of Han, and the Rebels are now shaking in their boots

. See-Threepio says "This is Madness", and moves to try and block a path to Han. Then Leia, moves to try and pew Q'Anilia, but misses 2 times ( FP re-roll miss ), but she moves 2 friends, including Luke who moves to block the other path to Han and R2, to give some blockage as well. Round ends with both of us getting gambit, I am now leading 115-98.
Rnd 7; I win init, but once again, Draay says "not so fast", and she again "Senses the Future" ( she can do that all day ), and Gandalf wins init yet again. Q'Anilia slashes Han 2 times for 40 dmg, and he's down to 10hp

. Luke's turn. This time around, Luke's gonna need some help ( he's a little emotionally rattled with losing loved one's ) because when he attempts to defeat Q'Anilia with 4 LS attacks with "Overwhelming Force", he drops his LS 2 times, and connects 2 times only, bringing her down to 30 hp. Han's turn. Han blasts her 2 times in her skull, and she "Lighsaber Protects" herself, but with Han hitting for 40dmg per pop, she dies on the 2nd shot. Han retreats 6, behind a wall of friends, to the gambit area left of the main middle, blown up door. Arca "Force Farsights" Feln up 6, to try and use the last trick, in his seemingly endless bag of them. Xamar swings at Luke and misses 2 times. Then, Gandalf uses the last trick in his bag, and if he succeeded, the outcome would perhaps, have changed the game in his favor; Feln activated "Lightning Assault", and moved to try and defeat a few of my scrubs to get to Han, but the tall task was getting by Luke, and Luke finally got his revenge, not missing Feln, and down he went, and that ended the game with me going over the 175pt total with Feln and gambit, bringing my total to 177. ( whew )
Wow. What a game! The Covenant are definitely an improved sub-faction in OR, but perhaps they still need a little help? I feel that they would still fare well in certain match-ups, but against the HOE Rebels, they are a tad bit overmatched. When Gandalf took out Chewie in rnd 5, I was a little worried, but Luke and Han were the hammers to turn the tide in my favor. Of course, the quiet Princess in the back, is the engine that allows them to do what they do, and without her, they would not have been able to win this game. Chewie's 60 unpreventable damage on Feln, before he died, was also extremely important, as it forced Gandalf to retreat his biggest threat, so that he wouldn't have died right after Chewie did. Unfortunately, he was never a factor again in the game, do to being almost died, making him ineffective. But again, if Chewie hadn't done that earlier dmg, perhaps Feln could have moved all the way to base Han in the gambit area, then killing Han with the "Lightning Assault" trick? Anyways, always a pleasure playing against you Gandalf. Good luck the rest of the tourney
