If you search for "swm gamers" [remember to include the empty space there] and you'll find all of our events.

Here are some notes for clarification, because I don't think we can update the text on the GenCon Event pages at this point:
--Friday evening's 175pt WotC-only team tournament: The "short description" text in the GenCon Event listing does not include the Nightclub map, but the "long description" text does include it. Since Laura listed Nightclub in her post above, I assume we should go by the "long description" list.
--Saturday evening's 200pt 3-Faction Tournament: There is no map list listed in either of the descriptions. Which maps should we include for this? Did we come up with a specific list of maps for this event?

Solid schedule!

Thinking really hard about jumping in on these 200 pt. wotc era 1 unique tournaments. Already have 3-5 squads figured out for this!

Our events are selling great! If you want to do pod racing, I'd get your tickets soon. Tourneys have plenty of room still.

I will be the T.O. for the regular SWM Tournaments on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at GenCon this summer (one in the morning and one in the evening each day).

I think most things are fairly clear in Laura's post, above. However, I want to offer a point of clarification about the Team Tournaments (one on Thursday evening, and one on Friday evening)

You might've noticed that these are not listed as Lightside/Darkside tournaments this year. That's not a mistake; it's because we're doing the pairings slightly differently this year. In the past, a team would be paired vs another team, and then the LS of one team would pair off against the DS of the other team, and vice-versa. Simple and easy.

However, this year we are going back to work a little bit closer to how the original Team Tournaments worked (if you can remember those days, before the Dark Times). In summary, there used to be 3 players per team, and the teams would roll off at the start, with the winner choosing the first matchup and the other team choosing the other 2 matchups; things would proceed as normal from there. We're leaning a bit more into that style of things this year, but with just 2 players per team rather than 3.

Here is how the pairing process will work for each round of the Team Tournaments:
1. Two teams will be paired against each other, as usual. Two players per team.
2. A single representative from both teams will roll off to determine the matchups. Whoever wins the roll will decide the matchups. For example, perhaps I win the matchup roll and see that my opponent's Vong squad would thrash my Sith squad, so I might decide to pair up that Vong squad vs my teammate's shooter-heavy squad, which allows my Sith to tackle the other team's Ewok swarm.
3. Both players who are on the team that did NOT win the matchup roll then automatically win the Map Rolls and ALSO get to decide who sets up first or second in their matches. Continuing the prior example, my Sith squad would be facing my opponent's Ewok swarm, but now my opponent would automatically get to choose whichever map he preferred (between mine and his, as per normal), and he would ALSO get to decide whether he wants to choose his side and set up first or defer to me and let me set up first. (Same thing for my teammate and his opponent.)

So the initial roll-off (described in step #2, above) will be significant because it will allow you choose the matchups, which could potentially be a big deal. However, if you do choose the matchups then you could very well end up starting on the harder side of the map you don't want. So we'll see how this affects things. You'll probably want to bring a balanced squad so that you don't need to worry about too many lopsided matchups, and you'll probably also want to bring a squad that isn't completely hamstrung by starting on the "bad" side of any of these maps.

We'll see how this runs, and I'll be eager to hear the feedback of everyone who plays. In the past there was a lot of excitement in the team tournaments, due to the match-making decisions. If this ends up with a similar vibe then we might go with a similar approach at VassalCon in September.
