Thanks - e-mails are out asking for clarification, so we should have the final word before long.

Ok cool. I replied to the email as well. This should be fun. I was looking through the list of possibles and I will definitely be using stuff that has never left the boxes before LOL

Since this is the 30th and the floor rules are official on the 26th this will of course not be DCI sanctioned since it doesn't adhere to any of the DCI formats. With that said I'm planning on bringing some of the customs maps I bought to finally play Woot

I'll bring a pile of them so people can use them if they want who don't have them. I've got to run by the mall on the way there to laminate the last few I've gotten.

Rules clarifications, at least as I understood from Matt:

Force Push, Lightning, Repulse, Corruption etc are also not allowed. This is to be a fight with staff and sword.

You may have force users, but they cannot have a lightsaber, lightsaber abilities or unleashed powers. A piece like Leia Bounty Hunter is fine, she only has Force Sense (of no use) but can use her FPs to reroll or move faster...

I was wondering about the droid with missles in the Seps. He's melee but has missles 30. I would assume that would break the spirit of the idea of the game being a melee only squad.

I would agree with your assessment, but you might bring one just in case someone else is playing the loopholes Laugh

Seriously though, where do we stop? I could have a Vong squad without Nom, but plenty of ranged damage.

BTW, that is a hypothetical "I could have", as in "I do have" Sneaky

Not if they get Thud Bugged and then Spit Poisoned to death by a swarm of Scouts sitting behind YVOG/PVWs.

At this point, I've given enough away that I'd better go with plan B LOL

I have several squads designed. I found some holes in my collection when trying to make a few. Doing something like this forces me to use pieces I didn't know I had. I added a bunch of stuff to my wants here now.

I got a clarification from Matt and Mike this weekend on melee with other stuff like missles. They said as long as it has melee and no lightsaber or lightsaber abilities then it is ok. So any piece with a ranged ability like missles or grenades is ok if it has the melee SA.

Yep, I talked to them about that as well.

We can use any piece with Melee, force user or not, as long as they aren't holding a lightsaber or have an ability/force power containing the word "Lightsaber".

I thought force powers like lightning/push were not going to be allowed, but I was mistaken. Some squads I thought would be viable are now questionable at best.
Opened, a can of worms has been. Sneaky

I'm going to try to make it to this. I've come up with a couple of squads that might not be competitive but should be fun nonetheless.
