A friend and I were discussing Affinity the other day and we can to a difference in opinion about it. If a sith character's ability says you may have mandalorians in your squad, do the mandalorians become sith or are they each still their original faction?

they are still mandalorians, no matter what.
only in the case of Mandalore the Ultimate (mando conscription) is the characters faction, other then Mando, changed.

It depends.
Are they allowed in your squad via a Commander Effect (like Uliq's in your example), then no.
If they allowed in the squad via Affinity (Jedi Crusader, Anatarian Ranger), then their faction changes. This is covered in the glossary defination of Affinity.

Not necessarily true. Affinity changes factions.

yes, but in his example, I think of Ulic bringing in mandos, as there is no sith affinity for them. its hypothetical, and if it were the case, then yes. but with what we have right now, my answer was a no for his example.

Ulics is not affinity, it just calls mandos in for you, so they get the BG ability.

Which is not a case of Affinity, and the factions do not change.
