That was an awesome line! I thought it was cool how they suckered Jar Jar into the proposal. I know most people don't like Jar jar But I thought he was a great character.

I know I grew up in NY but.........when I was 4 I went to my first baseball game at Wrigley Field and have been a Cubs Fan ever since. My uncle caught a foul ball at the game and gave it to me..........wish I still had the ball but at 39 I still remember the game! ThumpUp

I don't know, while the Goat Curse is a long one I submit a newer one:
The Curse of John Smoltz.
the following is taken for Wikipedia:
" The 1987 Tigers were in a three-team race, chasing the Toronto Blue Jays for the AL East division lead. In need of pitching help, Detroit sent their 20-year-old (John Smoltz) prospect to the Braves for the 36-year-old veteran Doyle Alexander. "

The Tigers haven't won the division title since 1987.
In 1988 the led most of the season only to finish second.
They were awful after the early 1990's and in 2006 they led the division from May until the last 3 games of the season.
This year they led again for most of the year only to lose to the Twins in a playoff.

The Cubs meanwhile (while not winning a WS) have won 4 division titles since then.

So 22 of no division titles, after trading away John Smoltz.

I remeber that series very well.
it was one of the saddest WS i ever watched (1986 world series trumps any i have ever witnessed.)
that is definitely an interesting take on a curse not many speak of.
My wifes uncle will talk all day about this.
my thing with the Cubs, is that they have had a few AWESOME players, but not enough talent to back them up.
if you watch baseball, no one man can carry a whole entire team (unless you are David Ortiz of the 2004 season, the man was a beast, and most likely a steroid user, very sad)
the goat, to me that is as laughable as the curse of the Bambino, or the Black Sox incident.
i dont think a curse deserves a title. it just is what it is, epic failure on every level every season.
BUT, in John Smoltz's Case, he left a trail of failure (minus the Braves, the man was also a beast).
Its nice talking baseball with mini gamers......
