How to make molds? Options

Ive been trying to make molds for customs.
ive tried
Plaster of paris (not very good)
Wax (ok, but wont work for pieces bigger than a jawa)
Liquid Latex (seems to be the best)

what do people do to make these molds???

Go to micromark.com and look at their casting kits. It should have everything you need. I have userd them with great sucess. It is a Room temperature vucanizing latex.

I have been looking into doing this as well and looked at a few casting kits but how do you them if you don’t have a base that you want to use as your start point? Also what do you use for the lightsabers?

I haven't made any molds, I just mod minis, but I know Sculpey (the polymer clay brand that some people use for customs, I think ironlightsaber said he used it, but don't quote me on that cuz I'm notsure) use to make a mold maker...but that was years ago and I don'tif they still do.

If they do I'd try it as all their products are high quality...

You will need to sculpt a model with greenstuff or sculply or both mixed together. You can find examples of how to sculpt on youtube. Or other sites. You can cut lightsabers of other minis, use clear plastic rods too. I dont like the look of the plastic bent light sabers on most of the sw minis. I use a paperclip cut to size and sculpt a light saber over it then paint it.
