Can someone with Self Destruct 40 be given Self Destruct 20 as well? If they die do you choose which one or get both doing a total of 60 damage?

You only get to use one of them, and I'm pretty sure that the default is to go with the highest one. I'm not sure it is optional.

Thanks for the quick response. I would assume 40 would be the better option but there might be a few times I would want the 20. Like if an enemy only needed 20 more damage to kill but one of my own guys was included in the self destruct and I wanted to minimize damage to him/her.

You get the higher value of the two since they both occur but don't stack. You don't get to choose.
