I thought there was a thread but I cant find it.

Janesville,WI will be host of the Wisconsin Star Wars Miniature regional this year.
Top Prize:The winner will win a 4 day pass to Gencon and a ticket to the main event which is on Saturday.
There should be more than enough prize support to go around if you dont win the top prize. There is a poster added as an attachment.
Hope to see you all there.

PS. Swmgamers.com has made a V-set that will be legal for the event and custom maps are legal for play now too.

We used to have a player named Jonny that came and played minis with us. Good player. But he disappeared over the last year. Flapper You would have liked him.

Seriously, we should have a good turnout. But it would be nice if people posted here if they plan on coming.

I'm a firm maybe. That of course is an improvement from my previous status of being a definite no. We'll see how it goes. I'm hopeful things will work out because it would be a lot of fun.

I'm a possible at this point. I'm over in Hudson, so it is a long hike. Might try and bring a friend or two though to help with driving and add more competition.

Where can I find DCI rules, it's a been awhile.

Hopefully you and your friend(s) can make it. Regionals are a lot of fun no matter your experience or skill level.

Hudson is near the MN Twin Cities. There's a group from there that should be coming. Carpooling?

Well it is now looking like a near certainty that I will be able to play in the Wisconsin Regional. Cool

I've been playing SWM since January/February of this year so and this will be my first tournament. Very excited about it!

I guess I better start getting a squad ready.

I might try Mandos or Imp or seps or vong who knows.

I plan on being there the 10th and 17th to help others get ready.

Awesome Jonny! I look forward to meeting and playing against you.

Between you, Tim, Mark and Steve that I will have plenty of people to ask questions from and make sure I know what I'm doing w/ regard to DCI rules and whatnot.

Anyone wanna give me an idea on how it's gonna work, or else I'm gonna get too scared to come.

Definitely don't be scared. It should be a ton of fun!

I still have a bunch of questions too but I know I have plenty of time to get them answered still. I am planning on bringing a fun squad to play. I'm going to try to make it competitive of course but the key is having fun. That's how I'm looking at it anyway.

Hope to see you there!

So we will have 20-40 players of all ages. Vset 1 and some custom maps are playable too.
I posted links for info about that. All factions I think will be played. Everyone that plays will get something. We have t-shirts,maps,Boosters so on for prizes. The winner will get a badge for gencon or if they cant go we can work something out.

The tournament will start at 11 am. If we have 16-36 there will be 5 rounds played. If we get more than 36 there will be six rounds played then playoffs for the top 4 players.

Prizes will be given out before the top 4 playoffs.Giving out prizes should not take more than 10-15 mins. There will be a short break. The playoffs will be played after the break.

There will be 5 rounds(16-36) maybe six rounds if we get more than 36.
This is called swiss rounds. After the the swiss rounds the top four players will face off in a single-elimination playoff.
the top seed will face off vs the four seed
2nd seed will face off vs the third.

Then the winner of 1/4 will play vs the winner of 2/3
whoever wins that match wins it all.

Also the there is another match vs the losing players to determine third place.

With regard to the Restricted Maps list, I just want to make certain that the following list of maps are the only ones allowed for the tournament.

Quote:
Clone Strike starter Grand Plaza map
Rebel Storm Ultimate Missions Cloud City map (Updated version)
Revenge of the Sith Ultimate Missions Throne Room map (2007 Starter)
Attack on Endor Commander's Office map
Attack on Endor Hall of Judgment map
Attack on Endor Rancor Pen map
Theed Palace (JC Map Pack 1)
Smugglers Base (JC League Kit 1)
Anchorhead (JC Map Pack 2)
Peaceful City (JC Map Pack 4)
Jabba's Palace (JC Map Pack 4)
Rhen Var Citadel (JC Map Pack 4)
Asteroid Base (JC Map Pack 4)
Bothan Spynet (JC Map Pack 4)
Mos Eisley Residence (JC Map Pack 3)

I'm fairly certain that this was from the most current floor rules but I just want to make certain I have this correct.

Also, if I have a map called "Smugglers Base" from Armored Cartographers/adventurers-atlas.com, that is the same as the one listed above, correct?

Hopefully Jonny and Shawn answered your questions. But let me know if you've got any others.

Other than what the winning squad will be. I haven't found that out yet. BigGrin
