This kinda runs along the idea of an Old School Booster League. Now that circrush's is coming to a close I was thinking about creating a short, quick, league...a Rebel Storm ONLY Booster League.

What are you guys thinking about that? 100 point matches, only maps that will be allowed is Mos Eisley, Cloud City, and Death Star. This will really be interesting...where Ewoks actually have value and 20 HP pieces actually make a difference. And where R2-D2 is king and Vader Sith Lord is beast.

Also, if you have any other ideas along these lines, feel free to post your thoughts as well.

umm, not liking the idea, having a booster league that only allows 1 set is kinda boring.

It's not going to be long, 3 games would've been probably max. The "league", if you want to call it that, would just be a way to get familiar with the original meta and how SWM started out...before doombot...before the dark times...But thanks for your input. That does make sense.

Perhaps a RS, CS, and ROTS Booster league?

The first 3 sets, that I'm willing to do. And it would be a great experience for all of us, even if you do decide on just rebel storm, since I didn't join in until about Imperial Entanglements.

I was thinking about adding in Universe. However; the ushering in of UH brought a whole new meta to the game after ROTS; one I dont know I really want to add. COTF is completely out of the question ;)

Also; if the boosters are to be from RS-ROTS/UH; what should the point cost be? Still 100 or maybe 150?

I will come back in the fall with a R&R booster league though Wink

Awesome: That will give me time to do a quick Old School one :D (that is; if anyone wants to do one).

I will definitely keep you updated! I will wait until circrushs ends either this week or next and then post an official thread afterwards (which reminds me...gotta schedule R5 and Demo matches...soon!)

Lol; I knew you'd be interested. You've been a faithful supporter of all my failed Old School ideas :P . I will also keep you updated.

I'd be up for it. It'd be a good reason for me to get back on Vassal. One thing I'd suggest though is to remove the two R2-D2s from the figures people can pull. Override was just too powerful back then.

Yea; hence why I wrote R2 was 'king' (well; I guess him and boba....) while I might still leave the R2s in as they made up part of the original meta; I might consider giving each player 1 or 2 uggnaughts to start out with; unless there were characters from RS-ROTS/UH that had Satchel Charge already. BTW; any thoughts on what point cost (100 or 150) it should be; and also what set it should go up to (ROTS or UH)?

@Plokoon: Awesome; I will let you know also when it starts and all that fun stuff. I'll kee you posted. :)

You don't necessarily have to exclude the R2's...just limit the Override ability.
Add a rule that stipulates how often you can use it or something to that affect.
For instance:
"The Override ability cannot only be used consecutively on the same door twice. If the same door is targetted two turns in a row, the computer system enables a preventive spike, which disables the Override SA on that character for the rest of the skirmish."

to help nerf R2, maybe just not have other players able to use him. Creme is getting your booster and you get R2, he can just toss that one out and try again.

Gambit helps quite a bit with evening out the old lock out strategy. But whoever gets Doombot will rule all.

I would be very surprised if the majority got any VR in abundance.

Especially in point costs less than 200 gambit will make much more of a difference.

Maybe I will knock up Gambit to 10 points per round? THAT should force some gameplay ;)
