if you have exar, use it to get momentum for 30 damage, then triple!

Depends on the faction you are trying to use it in. I would say for 200 like vanlanning said use Exar perhaps, but have a Varactyl Wranger around to keep it from having to base figures you don't want. The Rancor's Speed 8 should keep it from having to abide by Savage for attack/damage purposes.

Then just fill with Lobot (original) to bring in free Transfer Essence Fodder and maybe throw in a shooter.

So:

Rancor 33
Exar Kun 84
Lobot 27
Varactyl Wranger 6
150


This is probably more of a 200 point squad so you can fill in the rest of the points in 200 with a good quality shooter like Aurra CS, Dash RS, etc.

THis just lead to a question I have been meaning to ask, does a savage character still get exar's commander's effect if it is bieng empathied?

Not while in the 6 squares of him because it is counted as not having savage
