Set vs Set tournament

Imperial Entanglements - TheHutts
vs
Armed and Operational + Invasion - juice_man

Post your squads and explain why you will win. Everyone else - vote publicly for who you think will win. I'll track votes in this top post. (I reserve the right to exclude votes based on suspected sock puppet accounts.)

If anyone plans to play this match, please post that you plan to. Others may want to wait to see a play report before voting.

If both players agree to play this out instead of having the community vote, then the vote will be ignored and the results of that match will stand.

Voting ends December 19, 2015, 3:00pm EST (New York time).

--Imperial Imperial Entanglements--
71 Darth Vader, Legacy of the Force
32 Thrawn (Mitth'raw'nuruodo)
31 Arica
28 Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler
15 Lobot, Computer Liaison Officer
5 Imperial Dignitary
5 Stormtrooper
12 Mouse Droid x4

(199pts. 11 activations)

Interesting matchup that possibly comes down to good play IMO - I'll see if I get the chance to play it against a friend this week. Need to get enough damage on Bane with my shooters (Dash gets 6 shots per round, but only at +10) before Bane and Vader collide.

My map is still Ren Var. Put my override to good use. Stealth/Fog could be effective, what map do you choose?
Bane could kill any but Vader in one turn, if he closes. Dbbl Djem So, interesting.

I'd probably take Rancor.

Not too much cover, and negates your override.

Tough one to read. IE unless there's more data.

On Rhen Var think I win with dbbl Override. Get to box out thehutts. Rancor pen, well my Droidika can last a long time with DR 10 and Adv Shields, LIN Demolitionmech might take up someone's time, Young Anakin has Evade and renewable FP with Destiny of the Force, Owen and Beru force him to attack them or they heal. Leaving Elbee and Bane to take and deal damage. As mentioned earlier, Bane can take out anyone but Vader in one turn, and maybe him with Djem So. Elbee can actualy move and attack, no heavy weapon for him! Plus clamp (take that Arica or Vader) And the stealthy sniper can target anyone with shatter rifle.

Can get first round gambit with the Droidika.
Elbee's Stunning Screech and the Acolytes Sith Spell may come in handy.
Would have loved to play Jack on this but busy.

Tough one for me to call. I am going with Armed and Operational for now, unless Spry or someone plays this out and changes my vote.

This one is also super close IMO.

I vote IE in this.

IF Lobot rolls reserves, it is a huge, huge swing for IE, so there are some number of times it will just because of that and being able to add either Acts or a TBSV or whatever. Also, it should win init every round. So, Vader can do some damage pre engagement with Grip, but the hardest thing to deal with is BANE. So if this were me playing, I would move VAder to Gambit early and play the waiting game. Once Bane jumps in (would not use any of the DJEM-so attacks), would then swap an almost dead Vader for probably Arica, shoot Bane 4 times, then win init and shoot him 4 more, which if I am lucky would kill him and if not would make him almost dead. Then Bane would go and anhiliate Arica in which case I then move up Dash and finish him off. Dash and Vader (even severely wounded) should be able to take clean up most of the rest.

Now on Rancor pen it is entirely different but with the same idea. Bane obv takes the protected gambit side of the map, but with swap and such can easily stay far enough away that should be able to get shots with the shooters and also be able to get to gambit as well. BANE has to come engage at some point because Vader is the highest cost fig and will lose in a standoff. The mobility of Dash, ARica, and Swap combined with always winning init make it really difficult for Bane.

Think the edge is mine on Rhen Var, his on Rancor. Would really, really have loved to play this. Stealth/Fog might help some on Rancor.

I vote IE. Bane is a tough nut to crack, but IE has so much tech. Bane has to come to IE, but as soon as he's exposed he'll be ripped into by the powerful shooters. There's a lot the Sith can throw in front as meat shields, but meat shields don't matter much when all they do is buy time - with just a Sniper and the Droideka as reasonable ranged threats, a wall of defense will only delay the inevitable. Bane has to get up close and personal to do his damage, and with so much mobility, the Imps can stay out of reach and make him come on their terms.
