The Forces of evil have taken over SWM, and I don't see much hope for "good" now or on the horizon, especially after "TulakgateCon". In 24 GenCon and VassalCon 150pt & 200pt championships since 2006, the Forces of good, Rebels, Republic, Old Republic, and New Republic, have only won a grand total of 8 championships. Good dominated from 2007-2013, with 7 champs in a row, but have been left in the dust, ever since. "The Forces of Light" last time on top of the SWM world was Tint's 2016 GenCon Rebels champ squad, "Prison Break". 9 years later, at the latest Con, the Sith had 5 of 6 squads in the the playoffs and the lone other squad was the Mandos. In fact, in a field of 13 squads, only 3 were from a "good" faction ( 2 Republic, 1 OR ) and there were zero from Rebels and New Republic. That's a problem. I know that "Evil" has a devious effect on leading us down a path to the Dark side of the Force, but "good" really needs some help. For set #27, I designed a mini for the Old Republic, that I felt would have been a "game changer" and would see light in championship play, but someone slapped "Force Ascetic", on him, and now he's tier 1.5, at best. OR has some excitement, at least, with Nomi and Revan, but Rebels, NR, and Republic, really need a lot of help.

@ SWM Design Committee.

"You must see new design plans to help good become better by safely delivering them to the playtesting arena. This is our most desperate hour. Help us, SWM design committee. You're our only hope."

Just wait till the next VASSAL event, I predict at least 5 HoE squads with the new Chewie...

The set list for 29 was finalized several months ago. With the small sets we will be doing what we can, but design can be a slow process. Set 30 will begin around the time that the Balance Committee rulings will come down. I imagine that next year will be very different.

The new NR Luke is excellent; there are several different directions you can go with him.

As has been said, the new Chewie might be enough to bring Rebel heroes back into competitive play. I went 3-0 with them at the V-28 Vassal Con event, but that was in a field of 3, so there was not very much to test against.

OR have both Thon/Nomi and Revan PK. And don't forget that Thon/Nomi finished just barely outside of a playoff spot at GenCon.

Republic haven't had anything significant or groundbreaking for a while. Mike's squad at GenCon was pure genius, but part of the genius of the squad was that it was so unorthodox in how it worked. Furthermore, a big part of the Republic's strength has always been its dangerous jedi (whether Mace or Cin/Serra, etc), but Tulak with his Nexus is very mean and nasty to jedi, so there's not much room for jedi until those pieces are addressed.
