Ok so I have been looking on here and there is still some confusion about some things about the v-set.
Some of them center around the recommended mini.
Getting the cards and whether the real card is needed for tournaments.
So look if you have a question about how the v-set will interact with the floor rules ask it here and now.
I promise you that it will take a Phd in rocket science to figure out how this will work. It will be easy and involve common sense. I know some folks dont have common sense (my dad being the perfect example) but I cant help with that.
So if you have a question ask it.
Please understand I am not asking you to rate me as a human being. I am not asking for you opinion of the v-set. I not asking you tell me you are praying for me to get cancer and die (I have not had a pm like that today so here is to hoping).
I am asking you to ask your questions and I will answer them.
The floor rules will change very soon. I will be honest and tell you the only thing I am looking to change is how the v-set will interact with current game state and I am looking to add JC and Mapmakers maps to the restricted, standard and open list.
So fire away if you have a question.

Thank you for posting this, Dean!
I know the main thing people have been asking is how they can get more than 1 of each card for the non-Uniques. For official tournament play you only need 1 official card per however of the same minis you have, so obviously you won't need more than 1 of the V-Set cards. But if people want multiple cards, would they be allowed to print off the unofficial cards as long as they have 1 official card? That would solve the problems people have with wanting multiples of each. Or would we be allowed to order multiples of the non-Uniques only so we can have several of the official V-Set cards? As in you can order a full set as well as another non-Unique set of cards?

A little humor from Dean on a site that doesn't belong to him. Yet another step in the right direction. Reminds me of the Dean I first met 4 years ago. On topic: I have two questions. Do you have to use the suggested mini when playing in a sanctioned event? What if the suggested mini is the same mini as a non V-Set piece that I want to use in my squad as well? Edit: I know this has been answered, but just for sake of having the official answer here.

Yes as long as you have one official card you could have 10 say Jedi Seer's printed from online on the table (as long as the stats matched -- LOL) This is really already a part of the floor rules as it states you only need one official card. So having extras just for sanity (say you are running 10 jedi seers and need to track each one's damage) sake would be fine.

What if the suggested mini is the same mini as a non V-Set piece that I want to use in my squad as well? question 1 - no question 2 - refer to 1. Really the suggested mini is just that a suggestion. It is a recommendation made for folks so that people have an idea what you are doing without having to say so. A lot of the suggested minis (SEE - JEDI SEER) are from different factions. So while the Old Republic Jedi Sentinel might be your idea of what the Jedi Seer should be... we suggested a republic piece to keep from any confusion occurring when someone wants to run say a jedi sentinel and a jedi seer. Of course that being said paint can also cure this. just make sure if using say a painted jedi sentinel and a regular one in the same squad that you are very clear to you opponent at all times. Quite honestly I would write it down in case there is a disagreement later. You can refer to the note you made and also show it to a judge if you are playing in a larger tourney.

Thanks for doing this Dean (both this thread in particular and the vSet in general)! I can't tell you how excited I am about what I've seen so far in the vSet, and I am grateful to you and everyone who worked so hard to make them possible!
Unfortunately, I don't have time to listen to the podcasts, and while I get over to SWMGamers.com when I can, I still get most of my info over her at BM. So, thanks again!

First, thanks to you and others for your hard work on this.
To be clear:
1. Official cards are required for sanctioned tournement play.
2. Free downloads (pdf?) will be made available for non-tourney play.
Thanks in advance

you would be correct on both. But I must warn you unless you have some $1200 printer the print out won't look nearly as nice as the real cards. Try to remember also because we have already funded fully the printing costs of the cards that we will be giving some sets away.

Just out of curiousity, is it possible to download the pdf file to a flashdrive and have a place and have them printed by a mailboxes etc type company the same way you can download custom maps?

We did that for the previews we showed at Gencon. I think they took them to Kinkos and the print quality is still not anywhere near the quality of a professional printhouse. That being said you can do it but I would still advise everyone to get at least one copy of the real deal.

Thats what our tiny play group in Knoxville is doing. I made a donation to get the real ones, but some of the younger players whose parents think that its a waste of money were curious if we could get them their own copies. After downloading and printing the german set with a standard home printer, I know that way won't work. Thanks for the input.

Sorry if I got this wrong, I maybe misunderstood, I believed that the sets being printed outside of the donations would be "sold", so I may have misconstrued what was meant by this..

You will still likely have to pay for shipping.
However, the point of doing the donations was not so a whole bunch of other people could just get free stuff. Now, as a person who donated, I have no problem with other people getting their card sets for less than the $20 I donated. And I'm not asking for any sort of special treatment because I donated. All I would ask is that people who get the sets for "free" (plus shipping), not make a big fuss about it. Be thankful to all the other people who helped the project be a success. :)
Dean, here's a question for you....for anyone who wants to do Release events, how do we go about 'ordering' more sets of cards? Or for those of us who donated, if we want 2 sets of cards, how do we get a 2nd set?

I have a question about buying the cards. I would like to buy 3 complete sets. Can I just pledge $60 on kickstarter? How will you know to send me 3 sets?

As far as I know, you don't NEED to pledge anything else on Kickstarter at the moment. The goal has been met. You could possibly wait till afterwards and/or work out the details with Dean about getting more than one set, sort of along the lines of what I was asking just above. However...pledging $60 were certainly be fine, and I would think that Kickstarter will give Dean an exact list of who pledged how much. It we go over the goal (which we already are), then any further money could be put toward printing V Set 2.

So when or will sets be available for regular sale then. I don't mind doing kickstarter, I just want to make sure that if I pledge $60, that I get 3 sets.
