LOL your response is kind of hilarious.
In fact early into the v-set I told people if you dont want the v-set or dont like it just dont worry about it. I was told that was a mean thing to say. But you dont like it so you feel the need to tear it apart the best you can.
If most of the community is happy with it why does that bother you? Why dont you just leave it alone? Just dont participate.
You say that if you dont do something for the community I think you must be killing it. Well no I dont. I have not made that post towards anyone else in the community. But you are making a concerted effort to make the v-set look badly, illegal and like we are out trying to make a profit off of the community.
None of which is true. But you dont see where you are doing anything negative?
Hmmmm!!! I really doubt that. I will state again if you dont like the v-set then dont ask for a copy of it. Notice I did not say dont buy a copy? You cannot buy what is free.
If you dont like the v-set I am fine with that but really why are you trying to tear it apart again????

Is someone who plays and enjoys the game trying to kill the community if that's all he does? If someone's with the virtual set they're with the community, and if they're not they're trying to kill it, right?
My comparison wasn't between war and SWM it was about how people try to twist your words, but you know that.
Because you've now thrown your hat in with people who have done, and perhaps still are doing exactly that. It isn't a coincidence that most of the anti-DotF stuff has been from less than reputable people trying to destroy what's left of the community. But to use your own words, "but you know that." Personally, I don't give a rat's behind what you think about copyright issues related to this. You're almost entirely wrong (other than the issues Nickname already covered with the CR issues of all the sites, etc), but that's beside the point. You aren't an LFL lawyer, so what's your interest then in antagonizing over this stuff? Seriously, what's the issue? Dean has given his thoughts on your "issue", but you have given none. I'm sure you aren't going to really try to convince us that you have the interests of LFL and their copyright at heart right? So what is it. The general response has been that in almost 100% of previous cases, the people making your argument, are not being honest. I'm not accusing you of anything, but I'm explaining to you why you are on the defensive about it. If you can give a good reason to your actions, then so be it, we can all move on and end the nonesense. We understand the copyright issues at stake, we understand the choices we've made, and the potential consequences. And we've decided that the community is better served by going forward in the ways we have decided. You don't have to agree, but leave the false pretenses out of it.

Guys, stop poking the troll. All you do is bring yourself down to his level, which you don't want to do. Leave it be, eventually the troll goes away. Quarlitox wrote:So, what's the release date? And how can I get 3 sets in Costa Rica? The release date is set for December 15th. There is a thread over at Gamers asking for people who will help distribute the sets in specific areas, if you speak up there you should be able to secure a position to help.

I didn't start this thread. And what do you mean "again"? I'll bite, what was the time I tried to "tear it apart" before? You're short on facts.

I don't think he falls to the level of the obvious trolls we've seen in the past, and is worthy of having a discussion with (though ultimately, it may just end with agree to disagree.) He's also been the target of unwarranted criticism from the Gamers faithful recently, so I can see how that combined with some misunderstanding might leave a bit of a bad taste.

no thanks you have not made one post that has been truthful or close to the mark.
It is just more mis-information being slung around. Much like you are doing on wizards under the screename of the the_Don. I have stated what I disagreed with and am done with the subject. You are a great guy and doing a great thing.

What's that all about? Sling mud and throw accusations and then bow out when someone points out that you're wrong? You just got modded again on WotC. You need to lay off the personal attacks, man. I like how they handle things over there. Makes you feel safe. How did you get back on there, anyway? Weren't you banned? dnemiller wrote:You are a great guy and doing a great thing. Thanks!

True, both he and Sparks (sorry, Carlos Spicywiener) were respectable members. But a respectable member can still become a troll out of nowhere. A troll is someone "with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response" and his recent posts sure do seem to do that. The posts are intended to look down on the V-Set and he knows the response he will get from those who hold the V-Set close. So, in my eyes, that equals "troll" even if it doesn't equal that to you.

Ok so far the confussion is no less. So I can get Official authorized cards for *FREE* w/o a donation? this is the email I recieved which has lead to my confussion: Quote:I volunteered to distribute the V-Set cards in XXXXXX when they come out on Dec 1. These are the official cards you will need to use if you decide to play in any official tournaments (Regionals, Gencon, etc.) They will be releasing a PDF for free on SWMGamers.com for anyone who wants to print their own cards, but self-printed cannot be used in official tournaments. I know that some of us have donated on the SWMGamers Kickstart website when they were looking for help raising money to print the official cards. I did about a month ago.
What I need from you guys is reply to this email letting me know if you would like a set of the official cards. If you have donated on Kickstart, let me know your screenname on there, because I will be getting the cards for those people as well. The official cards will be about $10 for a complete set of 60 cards (one copy of each). I won't need any money until the cards come in. One thing to keep in mind, they are only printing 500 sets. Once they are gone, they will not be printing any more. If you have any questions, let me know. But I need to compete this list as soon as possible tournament. these bolded area's are what really lead to my confussion... I just clear concise answers. Either official cards are free or I have to pay to play. which is it?

You may have the mods there in your pocket and that is good. Maybe some of us have someone higher up on the food chain in ours.

No, criticism is perfectly fine. There are a lot of people who don't like the V-Set and we're fine with them. But they don't go to threads about the V-Set and purposely try to talk down the V-Set and steer the thread off course, which is exactly what you did here. That is a troll's behaviour. It was unnecessary for you to post what you posted in this thread, it had absolutely positively nothing to do with what this thread was about.
