Yoda Jedi master grants wookies bodyguard within 6. Can I put a wookie next to a mouse droid and a bacta tank in a room, and let him take the damage since the commander affect doesn't say adjacent and he's within 6 of a mouse droid?

The Wookiee would be affected by Yoda's CE, but would still need to be adjacent to the character being attacked to in order to be able to use Bodyguard.

Also, bear in mind that Relay Orders does not work for CEs whose range is adjacent characters. It doesn't work that way.
