Over on BGG, there's a file with some solo rules:

https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/222415/star-wars-miniatures-ai-rules-for-solo-play

They do a decent job, but you still have to make decisions for the opponent in some cases... which means that you're going to almost certainly win if you want to. Unless you're making good decisions for the opponent, in which case you're really just playing two-handed. So to turn this into an actual challenge...

Use those rules. No reason to re-invent the wheel. However, when you are given the opportunity to choose "poorly" for the opponent absolutely feel free to do so.

Instead, part of the challenge moves to the squadbuilding. Build an absolutely terrible opponent's squad and a great squad for yourself. The goal:

* Win, of course
* For a set opponent's squad size (e.g. 100 points), minimize the size of your squad. If you beat a 100-point squad with your 30-point squad, then maybe that's a new high score for you.

As an added bonus, this creates a use for all those absolutely useless pieces of WotC plastic - use them to make horrible AI squads.

Squadbuilding rules for the AI squad:
* Must be faction legal
* Every character must be able to cause damage
* For every commander effect in the squad that affects allies, there must be a character in the squad that is affected by the CE.

I'm going to go give it a try now.

Challenge #1:

--AI Squad--
26 Dark Side Enforcer
19 Djas Puhr
13 Rodian Blaster-for-Hire
28 Arcona Smuggler x4
14 Klatooinian Enforcer x2

(100pts. 9 activations)

Kerra Holt (29pts) just rolled right through this squad. Rolling Attacks made it pretty trivial. She only took 20dmg total. So the challenge: beat this squad with the smallest squad you can. I think Teethree (T3-M4) (11pts) has a chance to win on his own, but at only 30hp it would only take two lucky shots to take him out. Odds are probably in favor of the 100pts of garbage. I'd be interested to hear if anyone tries it.

Going the other way Kerra could certainly handle a much larger squad of similar garbage. How big of a squad could you build that she would beat? In particular, Rolling Attacks could keep going for a looooong time until she hits her second 1, which she couldn't reroll.

--did you ever hear the tragedy...--
63 Darth Plagueis
29 Dark Jedi Master
8 Muun Tactics Broker

(100pts. 3 activations)

At the start of round 2, the MTB will be left alone against my Army of Light Trooper. The MTB needs an 11 to hit and a failed Beskar (or a crit), while the AoL Trooper only needs a 5 to take out the MTB. So as long as the Trooper can close the distance, it should go my way most of the time.
