What is the reasoning behind "The Glove of Darth Vader"?

2 main things http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Glove_of_Darth_Vader and http://www.galacticbinder.com/images/vaderblast1.jpg

I thought that book wasn't canon... Guess I was wrong.

I had never heard it wasn't, I read it as a kid and just assumed it was still in canon. Ok I looked it up according to Wookiepedia, parts have been retconned but the only thing about Vader's Glove that changed was part of its composition, nothing to do with the actual story. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Prince

I remember that story too. Good stuff. I like that you worked his glove into the piece and I think he's well balanced for cost through his lack of GMA.

I like Force Choke, maybe a bit underwhelming, but a nice ability. I do think he is undercost though. He has high HP, Dark Armor to preserve his life longer, any attack that hits he gets a free save 11 with chances to attack back or return damage, and then can avoid the damage with a Force Point via Lightsaber Defense, so he's GREAT defensively, and pretty nasty offensively. Love the combination, but with guys like Bandon to boost him, he needs a bit of a higher cost I think.

peg, FC dosen't replace attacks.

Ah, now Choke seems like a very balanced tool.

I am Pretty sure the Glove of Darth Vader book series is considered non-cannon. I also read them as a child (some of the first Star Wars books I read!) and enjoyed the series. I made a Trioculus: http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/15292/trioculus--dark-lord

Well...he still had a fancy blaster-reflecting glove, and now you can too! ;)

Lol I want one! Also it seems we both wanted to represent that scene on our characters, though I used a Force Power. I like The Glove of Darth Vader SA you made and Force Choke is pretty cool (not to mention better representation then the less than sufficient Force Grip) He needs a different name though as Champion of the Sith was already used: http://www.bloomilk.com/Character/437/darth-vader--champion-of-the-sith

Yeah Grip is great for what it does, but we never really see Vader just grip someone quickly and painfully, it usually incapacitates them at the least. And man I'm thick sometimes, I thought that was only Maul for some reason. changing it now to his original name actually.

Did the glove actually reflect the shot or just neutralise it? If it just neutralised it then it may have been a use of the negate energy Force power.

I always remembered it reflecting the bolts but I could be wrong

I honestly don't remember.

According to Wook, the book is canon: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Glove_of_Darth_Vader
Deathwielded

He could do both
corranhorn

(It would have a special banner if it were non canon).
corranhorn
7/31/2013 2:16:24 AM

And yeah the glove could represent either or.

it blocked because the shots bounced off one went up into the celling and the other went into the wall

Oooh, so it did reflect, looks like Andy was right!

"(It would have a special banner if it were non canon)" hmm interesting... Maybe we will see the Jedi Prince and Triclops in future novels?

But, wait... The ability to reflect shots with just your hand is an actual Force Power... So what does the glove do?
AndyHatton
8/5/2013 8:11:52 PM

It is an actual force power, but the Glove is made of Beskargam and infused with Sith Alchemy, I've always read that Vader was using the Glove to deflect the shots, not the Force. Even if he wasn't using the glove, it still had the potential to deflect blaster bolts.
