When this character next activates, he joins the opponent’s squad; save 6. This character's Force Powers may not be shared)

Force Powers

  • Force Renewal 2 (This character gets 2 Force points each time he activates)
  • Master of the Force 2 (May spend Force points up to 2 times in a single turn)
  • Theran Force-Listening (Force 3, Replaces Turn; you may choose one commander effect. This character is now subject to that commander effect regardless of restrictions. This effect lasts until the chosen commander is defeated.)
  • Fold Space (Force 3, usable only on this character's turn: Place this character or an adjacent medium or small ally in any square within 12 sqaures and line of Sight)

I have not done much with this piece in about a year but he took me a long time to make just this version. I'd like to know what people think, obviously he has a lot going on and I tried to give him some big downsides and for his point cost he isn't exactly the most Offensive piece. Big thank you to saber1 for helping me with a lot of this and workshopping powers with me.

He's very interesting and I like the custom FP's and Student of the Force (was that based on Jorus's Master Mind Meld?), but I'm not sure he's worth paying 65 points for.

It was and it wasn't. I had worked on the ability for a while before Mind Meld came out, but Mind Meld worded it much better than anything I had ever come up with (and gave it a workable drawback) so I just lifted the wording to work with for Student of the Force. What do you think a more appropriate cost would be? He is hard to balance since he can do so many different things. Grabbing a CE quick and then having a great movement breaker for the already mobile NR makes him hard to pin down cost wise.

I didn't see the part that he had the Commander Effect for the whole skirmish, so he may be worth 65 after all.

And the intention is for it to usable for enemy and ally CE (if he wouldn't qualify for them for whatever reason.) and in theory he could grab a few CEs if he really wanted to at expense of a few turns and a lot of force points. (He isn't the sturdiest I doubt it would be a wise investment over 1 good one.)

Nice Andy, I was drawing up ideas for Theran and force light and you already made perfect examples of both haha. On well back to the drawing board for me. Excellent job!

TFL & FS are not to be underestimated. At his cost, I don't think Triple Attack would be out of place. At this point in his arc (post 5 yr exile) he has become a much more dangerous melee combatant. SotF reads a bit awkwardly at this point, but I am exhausted so it might just be me.

Wait there is an extra lightsaber in there as a typo that might be it (I'll fix that when I'm not on my phone)....otherwise it should be similar to mind meld (which granted is wordy and complicated) do you think Triple would be too much with all of his Force Powers?

For 65 points, his damage is meager and he isn't overly resilient. I lean towards adding Triple and dropping a Force power. StF perhaps?

If I were to drop any force powers it would be STF and MAYBE Force Stun if I wanted to make him a little more combaty. My problem in costing is he is a versatile tech piece but because of all the things he offers he just gets expensive which to justify I made him fairly weak; which isn't necessarily accurate for Jacen.

So I figure I can either add Embrace of Pain to up his resilience or triple and maybe bump his stats a little to make him at least a threat. My other thought was Change double to Twin and add LS Assault for some options. Combined with any damage boosting CE he might pick up and that could be deadly.

I think the simplest route is -StF and +Triple. His damage output goes up by 50% and his price shouldn't need a bump. FS gives him a pseudo GMA with greater range. Even if FS is dropped, he still has a large and diverse bag of tricks.

Dropped Sense the Future, added Triple. Was also thinking of making him sturdier and adding an SA that ONLY allows him to benefit from CEs he gets with TFL. It was just a thought and I'm not really sold on it since it still makes him good at grabbing enemy CEs, bad at being a squad mate.
