Deceptive and Riposte work together nicely. He's a serious melee threat, since Vader considered him a talented combatant.

He seems a bit undercosted. 120 Damage against an enemy, plus taking no damage, PLUS any Imperial CEs (such as Thrawn). Also, I'd give him a Force power that represents his ability to stop fire. Maybe Force Bubble or something?

Where are you getting 120 damage from? As for the rest, yes he's powerful against melee, but that's it. Still, I'll up cost to 28.

Yes, 40 damage and 40 damage are identical. Ok I'm beginning to realize exactly what you don't understand. There's a difference between versatility and repetitiveness. This is boring, because with Double or Single with Deceptive get basically the same end result. Reignir's Boga is more interesting, because you have to choose between bonus damage or movement when attacking. The Quarren Raider is more interesting because you have to choose between Charging Fire's movement or bonus Damage from Deadeye. If you can't even recognize that, it's on you.
