Special Abilities

  • Unique
  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Awaken (When this character is defeated, make two saves, each needing 11; if both succeed you can immediately add a character named Darth Krayt to your squad. The new character sets up in a square this character formerly occupied and is considered activated for the rest of the round.)
  • Camaraderie (An ally with Darth Wyyrlok in its name gains Voice of Darth Krayt, Cunning Attack and Triple Attack)
  • Emplacement (Cannot move or be moved. Set up anywhere on your half of the battle map.)
  • Regeneration 10 (If this character doesn't move on his turn, remove 10 damage from him at the end of that turn)

Force Powers

  • Force 3
  • Force Renewal 1 (This character gets 1 Force point each time he activates)
  • Master of the Force 2 (May spend Force points up to 2 times in a single turn)
  • Force Sense (Force 1, usable only on this character's turn: Enemy characters lose Stealth for the rest of the round)
  • Illusion (Force 1: When hit by an attack, this character takes no damage unless the attacker makes a save of 11)
  • Sense the Future (Force 2: Once per round, after initiative is determined, you may exchange your initiative check with your opponent's initiative check)

Commander Effect

Abilities with Krayt in their name or text on allies within 6 squares are always considered in effect regardless of restrictions. Adjacent Sith allies gain Bodyguard.

This is my interpretation of Krayt as he directed the One Sith from stasis. While immobile, he really makes Wyyrlok shine with Cunning Attack and Triple Attack. Additionally, Voice of Darth Krayt gives Wyyrlok access to Krayt's Force powers. His CE ensures the new Darth Talon always has Synergy keyed up. His CE also gives him some staying power, granting adjacent Sith the Bodyguard SA. Finally, he has a tweak on the Dismount SA in Awaken.

This is really, really cool. 10 I might add MotF 2 and raise cost somewhat.

Thanks corranhorn. I appreciate the feedback. I thought a Potty Palps type character might be both fun and incredibly useful for the Sith and Kickin-it Krayt was a natural fit. I did consider MotF2 and might yet add it. It would help keep Wyyrlok's 60 HP on the board a bit longer.

I've decided MotF is a positive add in all respects. Bumped cost up to 33.

BTW, Voice of Darth Krayt (May use the Force powers of an ally who counts as Darth Krayt, and that ally may not have his commander effect suppressed)

^^^^^^ What Corranhorn said. At first I though this was like a Han in Carbonite, but this is much more awesomer.....

Very interesting idea. I like how you have to choose to either target this, and risk facing Darth Krayt, or fight against his boosted allies, while Krayt is constantly helping them out.

I am considering entering this piece in week 22 of the CCC. Feedback is appreciated.

I like the uniqueness of this a lot. I see some issues: Awaken, no character named Darth Krayt firstly, and secondly, I think that it could be too much to add a 76+ point character after all this can potentially do (this is another Sith item where the existence of Sith Recruits has to come into consideration). The CE may need a bit of cleaning up to work in the intended manner. I don't know what Voice of DK does (if you need I can tell you how to highlight the ability, even if custom, in there). Camaraderie is interesting... But that's A LOT for Wyyrlock, being 20 points...

Overall, an AWESOME representation of him in stasis, but needs some cleanup. As far as entry to the CCC, I wouldn't count it out, but it could be a bit risky (something this unique is very open to perception and opinion by the person who is rating, so it could be rated either way).

Yeah, how do you link stuff? I've done it before but the way I remember doesn't work. Either the method changed or my memory sux.

Ok, here's how to create links in custom abilities/CE's etc.: Just like you would put brackets to make links in comments, you do the same thing, but hold the SHIFT key while doing it to use the squiggly looking brackets instead. Same as comments, everything must be perfectly as entered (and if it's something like Rapport, enter it like this (bracket thingy)Rapport -1 (-1 Order 66)(bracket thingy), or whatever the 'Unique name' of the ability is (this is where the 'unique name' feature in the custom ability creator comes in handy).

If an ability has no Unique name and shares a name with something else (example: You create a Shien Style and there are 4 others made), I have no idea which it chooses or how, but I would assume it prioritizes actual abilities with that name first, then yours probably, or the one that is currently on most characters. Also, the reason I had to put (squiggly thingy) instead of just showing you what it is, is because it doesn't let me; it won't show up here lol. ANYWAY, hope this helps, from one customizer to another (it definitely can help save room in CE's and stuff) =D

HA! Well bang goes my idea of Darth Krayt in Stasis Chamber, instant rethink. This is damn near perfect by the way. Love Awaken amd Cam!... *grumble mumble*

@pegolego: Unless I'm going crazy the original Krayt is named Darth Krayt (76points). Regarding Wyyrlok, yes he gets strong. Consider his stats with Camaraderie: 60HP, 17Def, 10Atk, 10/20Dam with Triple Attack and Illusion as his only defense. If only 1/3 of Krayt's cost is for Wrrylok then he goes to 31 points. That isn't bad for such a fragile piece.

@pegolego: Bringing in a 76 pointer is a bold move for a new special ability, I agree. Here is why I think it isn't overly powerful. First, it's a choice for the opponent. Don't want to face DK? Kill off his support instead. Also, it requires a difficult save. Now that Sith Recruits are in the game as you mentioned, they are a consideration. However, they are easy to pick off if you are going to kill off DKDLiS and are worried about Awaken being successful. Now, is it priced appropriately? That's the big question.
saber1

Additionally, he's a 33 point piece that can't deal damage and provides a narrow chance to bring in an over-priced 76 point piece upon his death.

Indeed, there is a character named Darth Krayt, I really have no idea what my confusion was with my comment above, because I play the piece all the time. As far as the rest of what you said, you bring up some good arguments... This is going to be a TOUGH one to judge this weekend. Though with Wyyrlock, I'm not concerned about him being 'overpowered' with Camaraderie, but I don't see the point in worrying about giving him SO much on this piece, when he's going to be in the back for booming voice most of the time anyway. Now that I see what VoDK does, I love it!...

... I have a question though: Is it meant to make KRAYT'S CE un-disrupt-able, or his own?
saber1
12/21/2013 2:17:28 AM

Krayt's CE is both "boomed" and "unstoppable".

That's what I figured, just wanted to make sure.
saber1
12/21/2013 2:31:14 AM

Wyyrlok, while Krayt is snoozing, is the Voice. As such, he should be stout, standing in Krayt's stead. That's my reasoning, anyway. As soon as Krayt awakens, Wyyrlok returns to sidekick duty and Krayt heads to the battlefront.

This is a perfect representation of Krayt imo. Beastly for 33. It almost feels a shame waking him up because WC Krayt is a little weak compared to this lol. I do love how you can use the piece as a deterant though! Don't want the enemy coming through that door, place him near it so they have to target/attack it and risk awakening him.
