Special Abilities

  • Strong Willed (Cannot be affected by Jedi Mind Trick)
  • Resolve (When this character is targeted by a Force power, it has +4 to all saves)
  • Jedi Bodyguard (If an adjacent ally with a Force rating would take damage from an attack, this character can take the damage instead)
  • Light Tutor (At the start of the skirmish, choose an ally. If that ally does not have a Force rating, it gains Force 1 and can spend this Force point normally; it is considered to have a Force rating for the rest of the skirmish. If that ally already has a Force rating, it gains 1 Force point.)
  • Intervene (Force User) (Whenever a small or medium Follower within 6 squares with a Force Rating and a lower point cost is targeted, this character may move adjacent to that that character. This character becomes the target instead if possible)

  • Jedi Mind Trick 3 (Force 3, usable only on this character's turn: range 6; target living enemy and each living enemy adjacent to that target are considered activated this round and cannot make attacks of opportunity this turn; save 16)
  • Force Control (Force 1, replaces attacks: Until the start of this character's next turn, he gains the following Force ability: Enemy Force abilities are suppressed within 6 squares of this character)
  • Force Spirit 6 (If this character is defeated, immediately add 6 Force points to an ally with a Force rating; that ally can spend Force points 1 extra time per turn for the rest of the skirmish)

Commander Effect

Characters in your squad can spend this character's Force points. (A character still can't spend Force points more than once per turn and can't combine its own Force points with this character's.) Each ally with a Force rating gets +3 Attack and +3 Defense as long as it has an ally within 6 squares.

A Luke I have been tinkering with for a bit, a purely Defensive, Commander Luke who protects the members of his Order.

An impressive piece, and I think it succeeds as a no attack 50+ point piece where R&R Dooku failed. Intervene combined with his incredible defensive arsenal certainly enables him to defend the order, and an NR Force battery is great and balanced by the fact that Luke GH can't benefit from his battery-ness. 10/10.

I created a new version of Intervene for Chewie, so I decided to add the (Force User) to Luke's. That is the only update

Looks way overcosted. Intervene won't always work - he may not be able to move in the way - and as worded he takes AoOs to get there. Illusion is considerably weaker than Lightsaber Defense since the enemy can reroll. Renewal 2 with all of his own Force powers makes him a worse Force battery than Palps on Throne for a much higher cost.

with Jedi Bodyguard he doesn't have to actually become the target of the attack for Intervene to have a similar effect. I will edit the wording so he can't get AoO. I chose Illusion over LS Defense so that he would not count as having a Lightsaber. I remember him being tankier than he is now. I would consider bumping up his FR to 3. But he is mobile, has Light Tutor, and a second CE and FS6 which I think add appeal to him as a piece. I didn't want to undercost him so I went high, I'll think about some changes. 55 points of pure tech is a ton to pour into a squad, especially since he doesn't even boost the damage of anyone else. If he's all defense, he should be amazing at it. He can become the target of pretty much anything, but he's going to take a lot of damage to do it. I'd give him 23 defense, Absorb Energy, and Renewal 3 or 4. Increase Mind Trick to 3 (save 16 is so much better), maybe add Force Alter, and then drop either Intuition or Master Speed because the card is too full. :-)

I like those options. The other thing I was thinking was Soresu Style Mastery. (or the easier to get around Evade/Parry)

I don't know if it matters to you, but I don't think this will fit on a card. If it does, Strong Willed or Resolve could easily be dropped. They are kind of redundant, especially with MotF3. Actually, with MotF3 you could just give him Mettle and drop the other two. Mettle with Parry/Absorb Energy/MotF3 would make him a true tank.

Perhaps even too much of a tank - might want to go back to Illusion/Absorb Energy. Then there's a chance of hitting him with a lightsaber but shooting him is almost pointless. For 4fp, he's almost guaranteed to absorb it. It would eat through his FP quickly, though.

I'm usually not very concerned with it fitting on a card. But yeah if I was I would drop those two, as is they are mostly just flavor. (I could also combine a few of those SAs and Force Powers into 1 line to save space.)

Changed it to that. I don't want him to be unbeatable obviously, just a good defensive piece that helps out NR Jedi against shooters especially.
