  • Stealth (If this character has cover, he does not count as the nearest enemy for an attacker farther than 6 squares when choosing targets)

  • Subspace Transceiver (You may use this ability before determining initiative: This character's Reserves special abilities are successful on a roll of 17, 18, 19 and 20. On a success, this character may add an additional 10 points worth of Republic characters and Reserve characters may be Unique. This character is considered activated.)

  • Master Speed (Force 1: This character can move 6 extra squares on his turn as part of his move)
  • Force Surge 4 (Force 4, replaces attacks: range 6; 30 damage to target and to each character adjacent to that target, and push back target and each character adjacent to that target 3 squares if Large or smaller. Allies ignore the damage and effects from this power.)

For subspace transceiver all 30 points can be unique correct?

Cost-wise I compared this Obi to Darth Vader, AOE. His stats are a little lower then Vader's, but he had a couple new bells and whistles, of course. When designing him I was thinking of him infiltrating the Sep bases on Geonosis and Utapau. Both times Jedi and/or Clone Troopers came to his "aid."

Subspace Transceiver is an interesting SA "{you} may use this ability when determining initiative:" What is your reasonig on giving him Force Surge 4? Love his flavor text and CE! Now all Jedi Followers can get evade with the Bith BSV. Maybe Overcosted? Welcome to my reserves squad Obi-wan!

With Force Surge, just felt like using one of my custom versions of Push, LOL. It only damages enemies. I thought he would be expensive too but compare him to Vader, AOE. Plus this Obi has range damage with Surge and Subspace Transceiver to hit reserves more often. So... it is what it is.

What's so different about FS4?

Food for thought: While he is trying to "call in" Reserves with ST, he can still gain FPs with Renewal and make AOOs, so it might not be a total waste of turns. He can be nasty with someone with Anticipation too... Qui-Gonn and Mundi will be his BFFs.

corranhorn: It damages only enemies, not characters like Push. for 10 less damage though.

That looks more like repulse than a push effect.

BTW change the first word in Subspace Transceiver from "use" to "you"
Robobob

Nah, repulse emanates from the Jedi's body, where a push effect target's another. I changed the wording so you can even target an ally (like the video) and push his enemies away. Could be useful.

DW: haha, thanks.

It's a repulse effect originating somewhere else. So it's the creator's call.

Something about the Subspace transponer catches my attention. It should be a once per skirmish ability or a pure gamble, ie: If it fails, you are out of luck for the remainder of skirmish. Otherwise, it takes the luck out of the thing. It's the Vapaad-style Mastery of Reinforcements.

But you are also using the use of a 66-point piece... And Subspace transponder is for Reserves, not reinforcements.

When a character is activated, it takes a turn. That is why abilities that activate characters like Force Stun say "is considered activated" instead of "is activated", in order to change its status without granting a turn. From your comment, I gather that you want Obi-Wan to still get his FR1 with Subspace Transceiver.

However, as it is worded, he is getting a whole turn before the first phase of the round. In fact, even before Intuition/Aing-Tii/etc since his turn comes before determining initiative. However, if both sides have this character there's a real problem because who takes the turn first? Init hasn't been determined yet so there's no way to tell. I assume you didn't want him to take a turn anyway, but if you want no turn but still want him to gain a force point, then you'll need new wording.

ST is a very interesting idea. It seems balanced due to losing a turn (as you mentioned, that's 66 points in your squad not moving or attacking that round) and the fact that the odds of success are on par with Immediate Droid Reserves. Force Surge is also cool and like a similar power I created a while back, depicts what was seen in Hope. For clarity's sake, may I suggest, "Force 4, replaces attacks: range 6; 30 damage to target and to each enemy adjacent to that target; push back target and each enemy adjacent to target 3 squares if Huge or smaller"?
Robobob

Saber1: That's exactly how I originally had it worded, but just reworded it yesterday. Watching the Hope trailer I realize Satele actually targets her ally and pushes back the enemies. I thought this would be esp useful knocking back melee attackers who have based an ally of yours... thought it could be a fun change.

Flying Arrow: You are right about activating, I'll reword it. It's a weird ability that's tough to word correctly seeing as it must happen during initiative. Therefore, replacing turns or attacks doesn't really work.
FlyingArrow

You could add "This character gains 1 force point" to Subspace Receiver if you really wanted that effect. Basically get the FR1 without activating. Not very elegant, but gets the same effect.

Haha. I was thinking of that. I'll just leave it as it is because it'll be time for voting soon.
