Special Abilities

  • Unique
  • Quadruple Attack (On his turn, this character can make 3 extra attacks instead of moving)
  • Power Coupling (At the end of his turn, this character can choose 1 adjacent Small or Medium ally who does not have Melee Attack. That ally gains Extra Attack until the end of this character's next turn, or until this character is no longer adjacent.)
  • Information Broker (Once per round, before initiative is determined, if you choose to consider this character activated, an opponent's initiative check result automatically becomes 1.)
  • Ion Gun Supplies (Replaces turn: choose 1 adjacent ally without the Melee Attack special ability to gain Ion Gun +20, Scramble and Ionic Disruption (this character ignores non-unique enemy characters Ionic Shielding))
  • Explosive Ammunition Supplies (Replaces turn: choose 1 adjacent ally without the Melee Attack special ability to gain Splash 10)
  • Exotic Weapon Supplier (Usable once per Skirmish: Replaces turn; Choose 1 adjacent ally to gain Saber Dart)

Dex (as his friends call him) was a very knowledgeable being, assisting several Jedi by supplying crucial information for their missions.

Original name was Dex, Old Friend, but I don't think that would fit this version... Information Broker is an updated version of Tactics Broker. Weapons Dealer may be alittle confusing and to many options. Any suggestions?

Agreed. Weapons Dealer = too long/confusing.

WD is a great idea, just needs slimmed down a bit.

That's what I thought... Any suggestions on what I should lose? Snare Rifle and Saber Dart were later additions, though I kinda would like to keep Saber Dart for Flavor...

For WD, I think Flamethrower 10, Greandes 20 or Saber Dart, and make Saber Dart an actual ability via your custom SA area, and then make a hyperlink to it (PM me and I can tell you how, if you don't know, people have before; maybe you have? Don't remember, lol) :)

[Saber Dart] is already an ability, he doesn't have to create it. If you aren't going to define all of the abilities, why just that one?

Pegolego has the right idea. Just keep them on the lower end of the power spectrum. Maybe add allies without a Force Rating? Mace Windu with missiles and flamethrowers seems silly.

Mace is far better off spending his turn attacking anyway. Far, FAR better off.

Ah, I didn't remember that Andy. Yeah, just make hyperlinks to that one (or any you want to really) then, and it'll save space, and the 3 I listed are the only 3 I feel are really necessary, and are well balanced; 10 auto damage to clusters, 20 potential damage to clusters or 20+poison potential to target. No need really for handing out two different abilities a pop, and it's better balanced this way I think (and you can lower the cost!).

yea, yeah. You know what I mean though, LOL. Another thing to consider: Wampas with grenades, haha. If you require "allies without Melee Attack" then that excludes Jedi, savages and Vong... which makes sense.

the easiest way to accomplish Weapons Dealer is to Split it into multiple abilities ala the squib trader - since it replaces turn you decide which one you use to replace turn rather than using on abillity and making the choice within it. Something like: Flamer Supplies/Grenadier Supplies/??? Supplies/Hunting Supplies/Assassin Supplies. Its a lot of custom abilities, bit would make it look a lot cleaner. Wampas with Grenades is better than a wampa with relay orders, but Comm supplies lets that happen (grenades can be considered the wampa throwing boulders in my book).

@AndyHatton "Saber Dart is already an ability, he doesn't have to create it. If you aren't going to define all of the abilities, why just that one?" I figured that the other abilities are more common and better know were as Saber Dart is far more rare

Good Idea Lord Ball!

I split him into two different versions. This version should work as a great assistant to the new Karrde..

There is a ton going on here. Power Coupling is interesting and at first glance is a head scratcher. IB is an unusual take on the concept but it doesn't fit the nature of the character. Dex was a friendly guy, not the kind to sacrifice pawns on suicide missions. I like all of the "supplies" abilities, though I think there are too many. Giving Snare Rifle to anyone, and multiple allies to boot, may prove overly strong.

Removed Bounty Hunter Supplies (snare rifle) since I also was thinking the same. I also agree that Dex wouldn't kill an ally to give out Information. How about he must activate to gain that bonus (thus he cant give out any supplies that turn) I lowered his cost since you can only activate him once and you have several activation options.

Information Broker needs to be re-worded, unless you intended to grant him a turn before initiative is rolled. New wording: Once per round, before initiative is determined, if you choose to consider this character activated, an opponent's initiative check result automatically becomes 1.

Oh yeah I remember I was supposed to change that. Thanks for the reminder!
