Special Abilities

  • Unique
  • Affinity (This character may be in a squad with a character whose name contains Darth Maul regardless of faction)
  • Nightbrother (Counts as a character whose name contains Nightsister)
  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Twin Attack (Whenever this character attacks, he makes 1 extra attack against the same target)
  • Charging Assault (Replaces turn: Can move up to double speed, then make an attack against an adjacent enemy)
  • Bloodthirsty (+10 Damage on melee attacks against enemies at half Hit Points or less)
  • Maul's Bodyguard (If a character whose name contains Maul is an adjacent ally and would take damage from an attack, this character can take the damage instead)
  • Camaraderie (An Ally whose name contains Darth Maul gains Disciplined Leader)
  • Dark Armor (Whenever this character takes damage, he reduces the damage dealt by 10 with a save of 11. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.)

I managed to miss this until now. Hmm, let me see. Stats look good. Affinity is nice (same direction mine went). Nightbrother, Melee, Twin are all givens. I like Dark Armor here. It was curious that the vset version didn't use it. Charging Assault makes sense, as does Bloodthristy. Maul's Bodyguard and your chosen Camaraderie are both unusual takes this week. I don't know that I would have ever thought of MB and giving Maul DL. Very interesting! The Force powers all look appropriate.

I like the possibility of moving 12 and hitting twice for 30 each, 40 if Bloodthirsty is keyed up. He can benefit from Bandon for 100 damage potential which is meaty, but an utter lack of defense against sabers brings a nice balance at 55 points.

When I looked at the original Savage I was shocked he didn't have Dark Armor...It fits him so well I just assumed he did. I've been trying to put Bloodthirsty on a few of my Sith Lords, it is an ability that seems underused but very flavorfully evil. I like it. And yeah I felt like 55 was a good spot for him, he can kinda tank and has some damage potential but won't last long...and at 55 he pairs with Maul, Overlord for an even 100.

I went with DL for Maul because having an Apprentice really seemed to Focus Maul on keeping to his plan, to prove himself as a Sith Lord, and Savage took a few hits for Maul over that time and really was his muscle, so bodyguard seemed to fit that role. And I have an old Maul somewhere that gave Maul's Bodyguard to the old Savage...isn't as great on him since he might be moving when you don't want him to with savage.
