Special Abilities

  • Unique. Melee Attack, Double Attack.
  • Enraged Retaliation (If this character was just hit by a melee attack, add the amount of damage of that attack to the damage of this character's next attack this turn.)
  • I Am Altering the Deal (Characters brought in through enemy Reserve abilities join your squad instead. Save 16 negates.)
  • Turn to the Dark Side (Replaces attacks: range 6; 20 damage to 1 target with a Force rating. The target can choose to negate this damage and instead make a save of 11; if the save fails, the target joins this character's squad until the end of the skirmish.)

Force Powers

  • Force 3. Force Renewal 1.
  • Absorb Energy (Force 2: When hit by a nonmelee attack, this character takes no damage with a save of 11. Remove damage from this character equal to the prevented damage.)
  • Lightsaber Block (Force 1: When hit by a melee attack, this character takes no damage with a save of 11)
  • Lightsaber Riposte (Force 1: When hit by a melee attack, this character can make an immediate attack against that attacker)

Commander Effect

Imperial commanders without a Force rating gain Hostage Shield.

I was inspired by Lord Ball's Lord Vader, Agent of the Empire to create a Vader for this week's Cloud City Duel CCC. This piece took many forms until it settled into what you see now. I wanted to capture key elements of Vader's time on CC. He doesn't do much during his turn, 40 damage or TttDS. After all, he was going easy on the poor lad 'til Luke pissed him off. That glancing blow to the shoulder got his dander up and to capture this I created Eraged Retaliation. Used with Riposte, he can hit back very hard.

To capture his hosing of Lando I opted for IAAtD and the CE was a fun nod to Jeremy Bulloch using Leia as a shield. Pricing is tricky as his damage output can vary greatly, but I figured a price near that of Scourgey Vader should be appropriate.

The wording is confusing maybe for ER so instead: Enraged Retaliation-If this character just used a Force Power to attack and damage an enemy after being hit and damaged by a melee attack, this character gets +20 Damage on that attack

That CE is pretty sweet, perfect for imperials especially during that time frame. Force powers look good. I Am Altering the Deal could really screw some squads over.

Thanks shatterpoint7 & Deathweilded. Yeah, the CE is a toughy for some squads, but it might be a nice counter to the auto-include Lobot. (Its conveniently thematic in that regard) Eraged Retaliation is a tough one that I've reworked and reworded several times. Watered down too much it becomes another Djem So Style Mastery. In its current form, he can hit back for 40 if he was just hit for 20, 50 if hit for 30, etc. That is very strong and befitting the character. However, without MotF2, the player must choose between LSBlock and LSRiposte.

for Enraged Retaliation how about: (When hit by a melee attack, add damage equal to the amount this character received to his next attack this turn). it's very similar to what you have, but follows more along the lines of Absorb Energy.

@Lord Ball: That might do the trick. Thanks!

Which is clearer? (When hit by a melee attack, add damage equal to the amount this character received to his next attack this turn) OR (When hit by a melee attack, add damage to his next attack this turn equal to the amount this character received)

For Enraged Retaliation, how is: (When this character takes damage from a melee attack, add the amount of damage this character took to the damage dealt by this character's next attack this turn)
