Special Abilities

  • Geonosian
  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Melee Reach 3 (When attacking, this character treats enemies up to 3 squares away as adjacent)
  • Beast Handler (Savage allies can ignore the movement restrictions of Savage if within 3 squares of this character at the start of their turns)
  • Goad (Replaces attacks: Once per phase, 1 Large or Huge ally with Savage within 3 squares can immediately move up to its speed and make all its attacks against an adjacent enemy. (This does not count as an activation))
  • Jolt (An enemy hit by this character's attack is considered activated this round; save 11. Huge and larger characters ignore this effect.)
  • Static Pike (Replaces attacks, range 6: attack 1 target enemy without a Force rating, ignoring Twin Attack. (This counts as a non-melee attack))

Straight-up WotC upgrade. (I like trying to figure those out) I wrestled for an hour or so with the mix of abilities in an attempt to streamline as much as possible (but keep the new useful), so some things are approximations of others, in full context. Just went with max cost, so can drop stats or whatever if warranted.

I wrote up glossary for Goad. Think I covered the bases, but mainly: Once per phase, period.

Updated. Added beast handler because Empathy doesn't fit, or work the way it should here. If an ability needs to be dropped, the "throw" would be first on my list. (is more about the weapon than the character)

".... ignoring Twin Attack." Not sure what this means ... who has Twin that you're ignoring it? WOTC piece minus Viscious & 15 Attack instead of 16 = 10pt cost. Reach 3, 2 pts, Jolt 1-2, Handler, Goad & Pike 5-6 points? ...... 18-19? Well within the +/- 5 that should be applied to account for slight over/undercosting .... still wonder about Twin ....

I think that's saying that even if he gets Twin from Whorm, he can't use it.

I suspected his gaining Twin ... but why not make it "ignoring multiple attacks."

It's a replaces-attacks ability, so even if he gets Quadruple/Twin Attack with Extra Attack, he can still only Static Pole once. If he got Overload, he could do it twice... but Overload is almost as common as my successful initiative rolls, so he should be good there, too.

If it indeed replaced attacks then why bother "ignoring Twin?"

I didn't want to add Single-Shot-Blaster (yuck) so he can't throw the spear twice. It's on his turn, so he's ignoring Whorm, because he doesn't have the spear in hand to throw it again. I may need to be more specific in the wording, *or just drop it*. I don't care if Whorm lets him poke things twice in a row while holding the spear (melee). That makes sense, and he's weak (as should be). He's a 'promoted' Geo drone, almost the lowest of grunt living Seps after all. haha Those critters he's agitating on the other hand... ;)

@surf - because it's an 'attack', and Twin says...

I'm not feeling like there is anything left to do here, unless adjustments for cost are warranted. If so, I'd probably rather drop the 'spear throw' and make stats slightly better if that buys any room. Containing and/or unleashing the beasts is the main purpose.
