Special Abilities

  • Gargantuan Size (This character occupies a space 4 squares wide and 4 squares long. To squeeze this character needs at least a 2-square-wide opening. Medium and smaller characters may occupy squares on this character's base and are considered adjacent. Low objects and Large and smaller characters do not provide cover against this character's attack. Ignores movement costs to enter squares containing difficult terrain, low objects, and trenches. Never has cover. Cannot benefit from Bodyguard or Draw Fire.)

  • Mounted Weapon (Only allies with Mounted Weapon or adjacent allies with Gunner can combine fire with this character)
  • Rigid (Can't squeeze)
  • Flight (Ignores difficult terrain, enemy characters, low objects, and pits when moving)
  • Speed 8 (Can move up to 8 squares and attack, or 16 squares without attacking)
  • Attacks (2) (On its turn, this character can make 1 extra attack.)
  • Missiles 20 (Replaces attacks: sight; 20 damage to target and to each character adjacent to that target; save 11)
  • Damage Reduction 10 (Whenever this character takes damage, reduce the damage dealt by 10. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.)
  • Troop Transport (This character can transport up to 2 Large allies or a total of 4 Medium and Small allies that end their moves adjacent to him. Remove these allies from the battle grid; they move simultaneously with this character as though they had Flight, have cover, and are considered adjacent to him. Transported allies cannot make attacks or use Force Powers. A transported ally can return to the battle grid immediately before your first activation of the round. If this character is defeated, all transported allies are also defeated; save 11.)
  • Republic Reinforcements (30) (During setup, after seeing your opponent's squad, you can add up to 30 points of Republic characters to your squad.)
  • Immediate Clone Reserves (20) (If you roll exactly 10, or 20 for initiative, you can add up to 20 points of Republic characters with Order 66 to your squad, adjacent to this character, immediately before your first activation of the round)

The Low Alititude Assault Transport, or LATT, was the work horse of the Grand Army of the Republic. Its missions ranged from transporting troops into warzones to relocating heavy cargo.

I would love this piece! however, I would have made a custom special ability called "Immediate Republic Reserves" like kazdan. I think it would make sense for the extra pieces to start adjacent to this piece, than to start at the starting area.

Yeah, I was thinking of changing that when my ADD destracted me into doing something else. I thought it would be fun to have this and the MTT popping out little armies against each other.

Does the first part about Gargantuan size get ignored because of rigid? Anyways, nice idea. I think that it's the first Laat miniature idea. How would you make the model for it?

Yes. Some Gargantaun characters can squeeze if able, but the LAAT can't. Making the Mini? That's a tough one. Get a Gargantuan base from a D&D mini. Use the head of an AT-ST as the LAAT body, they are similar shape but the size is off... maybe attach the wings of the ISP Speeder. Might look goofy but close.
