To use them optimally, you'd probably just forgo the Specialisation and just make them into awesome attackers with Rieekan's Evade and the TBSV's GMA and just swarm with them. The attack is low, but you can use Wicket/Targeting to help, and four attacks for 20 at +8 from a 12 point piece is very high. You'd get annihilated by a Lancer though.

^I think their Attack is pretty good for a figure that costs only 12 points. I also don't see how Specialization is a poor choice for them, or for that matter why a Lancer would beat them every time under all circumstances.

I'm still having trouble visualizing how devastating the Lancer can be (having never seen one in action), but traditional Lancer squads have a range of something like 40-48 squares, I believe. They can fly in, mow your guys down with +15/20 Twin Attacks, and get away before you can do anything.

Yeah, these guys seem like they'd be great as a swarm, they're just vulnerable to a lancer. Double twin on a 20 damage piece with access to evade and gma is ridiculous for 12 points. People would play 5-6 of them, and ignore Specialization. If you're trying to balance the game as of the end of WOTC, giving the Rebels a new powerful piece isn't a great idea.

I think they need to either lose double or twin - both is way too much on a 12 point piece.

^Double then. Twin makes more sense for a guy with one blaster in each hand.
