I am curious if anyone thinks this guy makes the WOTC Mon Calamari pieces more playable.

I think so. Rieekan, this guy, and a horde of Mon Cal Techs would be scary - 3 point pieces at +5/20, but fragile. Throw in the TBSV and you can use the Mon Cal Mercs to Greater Mobile in and out at +9 for 20 twice... not quite as effective since they are exactly as durable as the techs and three times as expensive, but still cool. But a horde of Techs with some Mon Cal Knights would be pretty decent.
