Special Abilities

  • Droid (Immune to critical hits; not subject to commander effects)
  • Twin Attack (Whenever this character attacks, it makes 1 extra attack against the same target)
  • Mounted Weapon (Only allies with Mounted Weapon or adjacent allies with Gunner can combine fire with this character)
  • Damage Reduction 10 (Whenever this character takes damage, reduce the damage dealt by 10. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.)
  • Dual Weapon Use (Replaces attacks: Make an attack, then use one other special ability that replaces attacks)
  • Missiles 30 (Replaces attacks: sight; 30 damage to target and to each character adjacent to that target; save 11)
  • Aerial Assault (Replaces turn; this character gains Flight until the end of it's turn. It may move up to double speed, after moving this character can make an attack or remove itself from play to deal 30 damage to each adjacent character)

The Vulture-class starfighters were often utilized in swarms to overwhelm their enemies on either the ground or in the air. They could also be utilized as kamikaze pilots, penetrating deep into the enemy formations and delivering their explosive payload directly into the heart of the enemy.

Personally i'd give it Advanced Shields 2 over DR10, maybe missiles 30? Everything else is great, massive upgrade over the original. Edit: nevermind about the shield part, just looked at Severance Tann, and she gives you advanced shields 1 becasue of the DR10, which im sure was the point;) 9/10

Definitely was and thanks! I just didn't want it to be too overpowered but I suppose the pure fact that it's huge balances it out

an interesting variant. I'll try this with the 2005 Hasbro droid fighter. with a different approach, it used staggered activation 3, 2 movement, 1 attack, with 'heavy twin-linked lazer canon', missiles 60, and 'strafe attack', accelerate 24. a few other folks used W40K heavy flier rules for an inspiration that makes starfighters have to be rolled for each turn after the first, and only make 'strafing passes' etc... thanks for sharing! this'll be fun to test!

Some feedback post test game - in 250 and up, this piece excels. it is also awesome in dynamic duos with a droid captain or geonosian overseer. This has a lot of speed, and can flank effectively. Dual Weapon Use is a defacto 'staggered activation 2', so thats an upside. Aerial Assault is a little overpowered though, being able to strafe AND kamikaze... it can do ~180damage on one attack if the crits are there. its great against swarms. This piece blitzed against a 250 black and blue imp squad, and against a fringe 300 swarm squad.

Awesome feedback! So maybe changing aerial assualt to "... And then make an attack or use an ability that replaces attacks" and then give him self-destruct sequence 40? One or the other?

I reworded Aerial Assault to be one or the other. Strafing run or kamikaze
