Special Abilities
Droid (Immune to critical hits; not subject to commander effects)
Simple Programming (When an allied commander is defeated this character is considered activated and has -4 Defense for the remainder of that round.)
Swarm Tactics (After an living enemy is attacked by this character, it gets -1 Defense and -1 to all save rolls for the rest of the round. (this ability stacks))
What they lack in skill they make up for in sheer numbers.
wow, I like swarm tactics. Like all droids, you have to take into account the effects of all the droid buffs there are out there. You can get these bad boys up to attack 12, triple, twin, 20 damage. they may not need the extra help from the defensive nerf of swarm tactics. I do like the -1 to saves part most. It's like they are tiring out enemies that can dodge or deflect shots. SUPER COOL IDEA!!!
I'm confused about what Donny says more than anything. On its surface, these abilities basically say you hit something and they instantly become weaker as you attack each character .... hmmmm and how do they start cheaper than a regular droid? Does an initial cost deduction make it worth the overall price? Seems like a Nute Gunray; not worth the cost at any price ....
I will say I like Simple (makes sense) and Swarm looks like if you could tweak it somehow I Do like the direction it wants to go.
Thanks for be comments guys. And where droid swarms fall apart is strafing and Bastilla. So that really balances them out. And Surf I went with the standard battle droid stats and was hoping that with the huge negative that is simple programming (which Donny pointed out you would probably have a few commanders in the squad) that these guys would be weaker then a battle droid if you took out a commander. Suggestions on a tweak though?
Updated to make it just for saves. This way it focuses on making abilities/powers weaker as they get overwhelmed (picturing the Ki-Adi-Mundi getting gunned down by his troops)
I personally liked it better when it lowered the enemy's defense. That way you can actually conceivably overwhelm an enemy with enough of these guys. If it just effects saves, then you still have to beat the target's high defenses (which is almost impossible with Attack 0) for it to be useful. That's just my two cents. Good piece!
