Special Abilities

  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Cyborg (Counts as both a Droid and a non-Droid; living; subject to critical hits and commander effects)
  • Repair 30 (Replaces attacks: touch; remove 30 damage from 1 Droid character)
  • Master Droid Technician (Replaces attacks: chose a friendly droid character within 6 squares, chosen character gains Nano-Droids.)
  • Nano-Droids (Each time this character activates, remove 10 damage, Huge and larger droid characters remove 20 damage instead.)
  • Rapport (Non-unique Droid Characters cost 1 less while in this squad. Non-unique Droids with mounted weapon cost 2 less while in this squad.)

Commander Effect

Droids are subject to this effect: Non-Unique droid followers gain Gunner +10. Non-Unique Huge Droid followers without Flight, gain Flight and Speed 8.

Most Verpine have a flare for being starship technicians. This one had a flare for droids, especially the larger ones.

Only some critique: rigid is already not in play for tournaments so probably don't need that first part, and unless you swap something else in than the second part is just rapport for simplicity. Nano-droids is epic though and would be very cool to have. Gunner is a cool underused CE as well and would stack with Nute Gunray's improved spotter.

I think Nano-Droids needs some new wording. Nano-droids can't give "Nano-droids", they need separate names. I also think it's to powerful. 20 HP doesn't sound like much, but running away and hiding restores 40HP pretty quick (20 the first time while moving to hide and 20 more when it re-engages). But it certainly makes huges more attractive.

@donnyrides x'nay on the infinite regress paradox n'ay. as worded, that would cumulatively give them +1 nanodroids per turn... by turn 4, we're looking at immune droids hehe. @blemelisk, i like this piece on a number of levels, though, it would be broken, and if it ever found its way into mirror parratus or zann squads... it would be quite the bargain for 25pts as presently worded. still, a very awesome concept which would replace Wat Tambor in a lot of separatist builds for me hehe. 9 outta 10.

So i need to reword Nano-Droids, will do. Ill rename it somehow. But you are right, as it reads now it can give out nano droids and give them out again (from the new target) and that wasnt my intention. What I might do is make Nano-Droid ability (to give them out) call it Master Droid Technician, and then make the rigid lose rigid into a new short name, and a rapport for -1 cost. This will be done sometime today :)

Ok so I have updated him, made him cyborg to make it better to understand how he has such rapport with droids (and that he has nano droids, i hate to have an new ability that is given out that isnt on the new character. It also might be able to explain how he can give nano droids out. since rigid isnt as such an issue i made his CE (which is still subject to being disrupted) to include giving flight and speed 8.

This character now REALLY helps with the survivability of the huge droids as well as their mobility. I see him as a really good utility character to help the huge (and other) droids out a lot. But would be rather easy to kill otherwise. (flight still doesnt ignore walls, but at least with the ability to squeeze and move 8, they can get around a good bit easier.)

He has rigged special jetpacks onto the huge droids that grants those abilities, he being cyborg helps them use said jetpacks, however if he is disrupted or killed, they huge droids obviously no longer have that assistance and can no longer fly, or move faster. I have also adjusted his cost. Please advice on the cost.

Nice changes for the better. Two more things, you can probably dump industrial repair since all of the Separatist droid huges are also droids and repair is fine for that. And to save space you could drop the affinity as it's not really boosting a whole lot. But great mobility changes on the CE and love the self-repair

you are right about the redundancy on repair. and the only other droids that might come in are the sith droids, none that I can think of from rebels, there would be some from the Empire...but those arnt very thematic.

After removing the redundant ability and removing affinity (which yea in the end wasnt really thematic meta wise to what we are trying to do) i also adjusted his cost. Please tell me what yall think of the cost!

Cost is solid, also just noticed master droid technician doesn't specifically say huges/mounted weapon so could be handed out to pieces like commando droids and IG86s and such. And also do you want it to be rangeless? You can't technically target an ally as far as I know. You may want to clarify it for just huges by saying: " Replaces attacks: touch; 1 huge droid ally with Mounted Weapon gains Nano-Droids for the rest of the skirmish.

The range thing came up when i was originally coming up with the idea, and I was thinking it might aught to be limited, just not adjacent. I think ill change the wording to be: choose a friendly droid within 6 squares... I could change it to be: (Each time this character activates, remove 10 damage, Huge and larger droid characters remove 20 damage instead.)

Since as far as the rules go, a character can only activate one time, (if it does something that doesnt count as activation, Nano-Droids cant trigger) I feel this might balance it out a bit. Huge and Larger droids get more of the nano droids than do large/medium. If you think I should narrow it down to Non-unique droids to prevent making a very very difficult to kill named character I can.

cost makes it worth it. giving a huge reg 20 and than can repair 30 and than it reg for 20 again the next round gives you 70 damage repaired. with DR10 that is a big deal. very helpful, but maybe too much, but maybe just right. It is interesting.

Nano-Droids looks pretty good. Sure gives the bigs solid staying power.
