Special Abilities

  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Double Attack (On its turn, this character can make 1 extra attack instead of moving)
  • Melee Reach 2 (When attacking, this character treats enemies up to 2 squares away as adjacent)
  • Speed 4 (Can move only 4 squares and attack, or 8 squares without attacking)
  • Groundquake (Replaces turn: All characters within 6 squares take 10 damage and are considered activated this round; save 11 negates the non-damaging effect.)
  • Subterranean Sentinel (This character sets up anywhere on your half of the battle map, and is not a legal target until it moves, makes an attack, or damages an enemy. This character is not affected by Groundquake. Enemies within 6 squares get -4 to saves against allies with Subterranean Sentinel.)

Not sure how I feel about Groundquake; nice idea and I'm ok with the effects but the save only negates damage? That means an auto activation, which I'm against. Not sure why Sub. Sentinal gets an auto -4? Its an ability and becomes a legal target if you use it; so its a one-shot only? Also, as a tree, doesn't it move rather slowly?

I agree that Groundquake should have a save 11 for activation and damage.

Okay, first off, the save negates the non-damaging effect, so its a save for stunning, and not for damage. I could make the save negate both damaging and stunning. Second, yes, I should probably add Speed 4. Thirdly, I did word it poorly, but the -4 specifies that they get -4 to saves against *allies* with Sub Sentinel, so you need to run at least two to get the -4 to saves, and it is essentially only for Groundquake (although it makes it harder to use Parry against them as well). As far as using an ability... I should reword that. Thanks guys!

As a bonus, I remembered to add "makes an attack" to the things that make them legal targets :P
