Special Abilities

  • Double Claw Attack (On his turn, this character can make 1 extra attack instead of moving; both attacks must be against adjacent enemies)
  • Exoskeleton 7 (When this character takes damage, he can reduce the damage dealt by 10 with a save of 7)
  • Counterattack (Whenever this character is hit by a melee attack, make a save of 11. On a success, this character can make an immediate attack against that attacker.)
  • Immobilizing Rend (If both of this character's attacks hit the same enemy, that enemy cannot move this round)
  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Parry (When hit by a melee attack, this character takes no damage with a save of 11)
  • Bodyguard (If an adjacent ally would take damage from an attack, this character can take the damage instead)

Big, tough, scary bodyguard! Might be a touch cheap for all those goodies.

Monster bodyguard. May want to drop a few abilities or up his cost to the 40-50 range. As is this piece eats melee for breakfast and takes out range pretty well too. Super bodyguard is a neat concept but I think you have to double the cost or else drop intimidation, parry, and counterattack. Also why double claw attack if he is already melee? Isn't plain old double the same for him

double claw is more thematic

I think you missed the "relatively slow on land" line. If you're going to insist on 20 Defense, he needs to be more like Speed 4. Probably more like 35 but close enough.

Goodness! Those are scary! I apparently missed the debut stats; I think this guy is pretty good as he is right now. I like the combo of high defense and Exoskeleton; if I had made these guys I would have just overdone it and given him an OP Damage Reduction or something, but this is better. (while I totally understand the reasoning for Speed 4, I would advise against simply because it's really hard to use slow pieces effectively).

Ah, but CC .... "I would advise against simply because it's really hard to use slow pieces effectively;" my question, playing devils advocate for the forum, are we creating accurate pieces or just whatever strikes our fancy, never mind whether its playable. Lots of things are wildly inaccurate, but playable. And lots of things are accurate but unplayable. It is ... what it is. Sigh .......

Haha good point. Let me try a different approach: although Speeds appear to be very precise, I think they are also quite subjective in SWMinis. Speed 6 works for a very wide range of characters - Grievous has speed 6, even though he's probably faster than most Jedi or clones. Clone Trooper with Repeating Blaster also has speed 6, even though he would have to run quite hard to keep pace with someone like Ahsoka or Anakin. Unless something is ludicrously slow - like hauling around an E-Web blaster - I think speed 6 is adequate for most pieces.
