thats good to know. I kind of thought that as well. than I thought, accurate twin with Snare Rifle might be dangerous.. but 8 attack keeps it down as well in a Sep build. Than I thought what about in Fringe? cant really get extra attack, but he can get cunning and accurate and sniper and +4 +10. but still 19 is a lot. SO what is your suggested cost? 16?

I've tried the "rotating" ability thing before. It never seems to go over well, with people continually asking when did he change that; sounds simpler than it actually plays out .... As for cost, I actually think its where it should be; the three SA's all do different things, so since you have a "choice" what you really have is 3 separate SA's, which means they should All be counted; just because its one ability, its actaully three and you shouldn't get a "Discount." I costed it at 21 and 16 is a little too aggressively costed. 19 is about right.

I have played against Kyle Katarn many times and it has not been an issue, I typically know which SA he will choose. It can't be liek 3 separate abilities because than he would be costed very high and would have less of a need to be with Hondo to get Accurate if he already has sniper with Snare Rifle. But thank you for your input. maybe I will drop him to around 17?

... yet Kyle is what, 34 pts? I cost him at 35 (Close enough) and that tells me that your guys closer to 21 than 16 ... armament has always been tricky to cost; it looks like i but its really 3.

sorry to say it surf but you are wrong to try to use Kyle Katarn and this character for comparison in cost. Kyle Katarn is way better for his cost than this guy. He has Jan Ors... He also has better everything. The reason I brought up Kyle was to say that I have never had a gaming issue with him. I think it is tricky to cost as well. but 19 was my max. and it is 100% not like having 3 abilities, that is silly. If Kyle had all 3 he would be way over the top.

Simple and cool, only thing that may get confusing is a bunch of these guys each with different armaments which could make it hard to track and makes me think it should be on just unique pieces, but good execution here all the same

The nice thing about Armament is you don't actually have to track it much. It only lasts until the end of the turn. So if you had 3 of these and they each chose a different ability on their turn, on your opponent's turn he wouldn't have to wonder which had Snare Rifle to avoid getting stuck on an AoO; none of them would have Snare Rifle. It's also true that it's not like having all 3 abilities: there's a big difference between having Sniper AND Snare Rifle vs having Sniper OR Snare Rifle.

Well thought. I was under the impression that having it on a non-unique is not easy and would be hard to keep track of, but you are right. end of turn it goes away. So, I am back to really liking this guy haha

I like this piece, and like Armament, which by itself seems not really a problem. I'm not very good at character cost calculation. Seems like this piece could be pretty effective in some clever builds that would take a while to be discovered. It's a simple design on its own, which is cool.
