Special Abilities

  • Unique
  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Double Attack (On his turn, this character can make 1 extra attack instead of moving)
  • Soresu Style (When hit by an attack from a nonadjacent enemy, this character takes no damage with a save of 11)
  • Rapport ((All Wookiees cost 1 less when in the same squad as this character))
  • Friend of the Wookies (Non Unique Wookies can be in this character's Squad regardless of Faction, and receive +2 Defense.)
  • Reserves (Wookie) (If you roll a 5, 10, or 15 for initiative, you can add up to 30 points of Wookie characters to your squad immediately before your first activation of the round)
  • Lifedebt (Receiver Yoda) (When this character is reduced to half hit points or less, his Reserves ability automatically triggers on the next round. All allied Wookies gain bodyguard, and unique Wookie allies gain Heal 10 for the rest of the skirmish. This effect can only occur once per skirmish.)

  • Force Renewal 1 (This character gets 1 Force point each time he activates)
  • Anticipation (Force 1: Reroll initiative once per round)
  • Leaping Assault (Force 2, replaces turn: Move this character to any unoccupied square within 6 squares. This move does not provoke attacks of opportunity. After moving, this character may still make all of its attacks this turn.)
  • Enhance Agility (Force 1; after initiative; until the end of the round this character does not provoke attacks of opportunity and is not slowed by terrain or enemy characters.)

Commander Effect

Wookie followers gain Charging Assault +10 and Trooper followers gain Grenades 10.

Seems to be a proliferation of Jedi with no force powers this contest ........ and adding Force points/powers will make him fairly expensive.

Yea i didnt realize till after i submitted him. Thing is he doesnt necc supposed to be a force using master in this version really. he is a "friend of the Wookies" though yes as Yoda he should have FPs etc, but as you stated that would make him even more expensive.

Was just looking for a Yoda of Kashyyyk today and saw this before looking one up. What are the odds? Awesome. But could you please update it with force powers and up the cost? As I feel this version is not complete.

Ok updated with Force powers I think are logical with this piece, he isnt a beat stick dishing 100+ damage a turn, but can hold his own in a fight (which i expect from Yoda), but he is more inspirational, and has some good movement abilities that are logical from having seen him in Eps 2 against Dooku.

Friend of the Wookiees could just be Affinity, moving the +2 def part somewhere else, but to the CE gets messy between FotW being n/u and just 'followers' in the CE. shrug

I think you could roll friend for the into the commander effect. Also life debt is interesting but not sure if it's too much with the already ability/power heavy card.

Or do what Swine said and make it agility, just drop the +2 defense. And I agree make the CE just Wookies for simplicity

Well I could remove abilities, but then it "wouldnt" be Yoda. I gave him the ablity to fight at least OK on his own. I created new abilities for Reserves on purpose (why else have a CCC? unless you create new and interesting combinations). I could roll up abilities into what already exists but that to me is not only boring but unimaginative. I create new abilities that combine a few smaller things together under a new ability with what comes from the sources, as a slightly new twist to something that already exists.

We have all heard of the legendary Wookie Lifedebt, but NEVER have actually explored what that would be in game. This, is just one simple translation of what that would be in our game. As for complaints from an over crowded card: well this is Yoda, the only Jedi that we see that actually foils order 66 against him. We dont see him fighting in the front, thus he isnt a high damage dealer, we see the respect he has for and from the wookies. He leads them and inspires them and they honor him by making sure he does escape while their own are being hunted down.

for the reason above, and the fact there are new abilities created for the character to display the above, that i would expect the card to be crowded. What would a blank Darth Reven or Darth Vader card look like? (and more importantly, would you even consider playing it?)

It looks great but 100 hp I believe it's kinda low IMO. Maybe 140 is more suited for him.

That 140 for the price and what he does already, or just what any Yoda should be?

I like Enhance, and as to the lower than normal HP for a Yoda, I think it helps balance the auto-reserves trigger in Lifedebt, as he's clearly in danger at that point. That's good flavor, and clever!
