Special Abilities

  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Force Immunity (Enemies cannot affect this character with Force powers, or spend Force points to reroll attacks against this character or to respond to this character's attacks and abilities)
  • Vonduun Crab Armor 2 (When this character takes damage, it can reduce the damage dealt by 10 with a save of 2)
  • Gene Splicing (Huge Savage allies with Melee Attack but without Melee Reach 3 gain Vondunn Crab Armor 2 and Defensive Barbs (when this character takes damage from an attack, it may take an additional 10 damage. If it does then deal 20 damage to the attacker and that character is poisoned; save 11. Each time a poisoned character activates it takes 20 damage; save 11 negates and it is no longer poisoned)

How about an armoured Rancor that flings poisonous barbs at you when hit? Hahaha

The cost restriction seems a bit strange, mainly because it seems like a fairly random number, rather than the typical of some correlation to the characters cost.

I know and I would honestly drop it if not for the stipulation about not boosting vset characters. But I can try to reword it one other way

Not too strange. The only savage ones that cost more than 51 are V-set pieces.

That was my first thought, but changed it to without Melee Reach 3 (as only the vset ones have that) and it helps that I'm giving them a quasi-ranged defensive ability.

So the Defenisive Barbs work on Non Melee attacks? What about Special Abilities?

Specifically for damage from an attack Shmi. I had a secret goal to encourage more abilitys/powers use. So gripping, pushing, burning, Missiling etc... would be too non-specific for the creature to respond to and direct its counter damage back.

It's definitely Vong-ish! Seems weird that Barbs would affect attackers not in fairly close range.

My logic is that the maps are fairly small, and if someone can shoot a virulent blow dart across a map then I think a huge beast hurling parts of his body would at least go as far haha

I could make it within 6 squares but I still want them to be able to deal with ranged threats. One other thing I considered was giving them dovin basal instead of one of the current ones so they have some built in ranged protection.
