Special Abilities

  • Unique
  • Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies)
  • Great Pit of Carkoon (Characters can walk on and through this character and can occupy squares this character occupies. Characters on or within 3 squares gain Speed 4. Characters with Flight ignore this ability.)
  • Anarchist (Not subject to commander effects. Suppresses enemy and allied commander effects within 6 squares.)
  • Emplacement (Cannot move or be moved. Set up anywhere on your half of the battle map.)
  • Melee Reach 3 (When attacking, this character treats enemies up to 3 squares away as adjacent)
  • Pull (Replaces attacks: Make up to 2 attacks against 2 separate targets. If the attack hits move the target up to 2 squares towards and/or on this character.)
  • Sarlacc's Stomach (Characters that move or land on this character take 20 damage and are considered swallowed. Swallowed characters are removed from the grid. They cannot be targeted, attacked, make attacks or count distance from this character. Each time a swallowed character activates it must attempt a save of 11. On a failure, that character takes 10 damage and cannot move this round. On a success, that character is no longer swallowed and starts its activation in any adjacent square. If this character is defeated, swallowed characters are defeated, save 11.)

Since there already is a Sarlacc character perhaps naming yours the Great Pit of Carkoon (don't forget unique!)

When a character is no longer swallowed, where is it located?

hmmm. good question. it should probably be any adjacent square. and i need to say that while "swallowed" they cannot move. any thoughts for wording are welcome

I'll think on it as I have time. Much like with the v-set Sarlaac, there are a lot of card-eating details to cover.

It looks pretty well!!! Very good work man!! Just define where the no longer swallowed characters are.

Ok added that swallowed characters that make their save start their activation in any adjacent square.

Interesting stuff so far, I think you need to clarify the "move or land on this character" is that moving adjacent to it? Or passing through it? Because only friendly characters can do that, will this eat friendly characters? And then for th land on this character, as far as I know you can never end your movement on another character, so should there be a specific wording for that? Is the only way to trigger that by using pull? Because then maybe the wording for swallowed should be there.

Final question is Pull rangeless? Like 30 squares across the board you can snag someone?

it has to be on an actual square that it occupies, I will try and clear it up. Yes it will eat friendly characters, so if a piece is pushed into it it is swallowed. yes there will need to be a specific wording for it. It happens anytime anyone moves or lands on a square it occupies. For pull it says make 2 attacks, so I need to add Melee Attack to go with the melee reach 3 hahaha. geez. this guy is complicated. thanks for the comments and I will clean it up.

I look forward to seeing the "Final" product. The problem with complicated characters is you fix one thing and 1-2 other things pop up .....

Does that work?

HAHAHA I love this! This is great! Never thought I'd read "X characters are considered swallowed" in SWMinis. This is brilliant!

So Characters with Flight ignore GPoC, but are technically subject to Sarlaccs stomach (though because they ignore GPoC they technically can't land on the Sarlaccs spaces). Some cool ideas, but clearly a rules nightmare!

hmmm.. tough call. people with melee can attack characters with flight you know? flight has always been an issue tbh. I have to make it so that the only way characters with flight can be swallowed is if they are pulled in by the Sarlacc itself. I will try and work on it.

"..... a lot of card-eating details ...." I just Hate when that happens ........

Ya i normally do not want a lot of reading, but something new usually requires card eating. any thoughts on how to make it less wordy are definitely welcome.

... speaking of less wordy. only half of Sarlacc's Stomach makes it ino a card even with every sneaky trick I know ...... let the Trimming Begin!

Yea, SS does have a whole lot of words to read to go with the rest of the abilities. Its cool, and I don't necessarily think it is broken. It does look fun, and if its a scenario piece, which I think is ok this week, then I think it doesn't matter how wordy it is
