Special Abilities

  • Colossal (Large and smaller characters may occupy squares on this character's base and are considered adjacent. Low objects and Large and smaller characters do not provide cover against this character's attack. Ignores movement costs to enter squares containing difficult terrain, low objects, and trenches. Never has cover. Cannot benefit from Bodyguard or Draw Fire.)
  • Emplacement (Cannot move or be moved. Set up anywhere on your half of the battle map.)
  • Staggered Activation 6 (Activates 6 times per round; each activation counts as 1 of your 2 activations in a phase)
  • Grab Enemy (1 activation: Choose an enemy within 12 squares, ignoring walls and doors. 10 damage, save 11, and move that character six squares; the character is considered to have Flight during this movement)
  • Underground Defense System (This character ignores walls and doors when determining legal spaces to set up in and end its move in)
  • Tentacle Attack (1 activation: Choose an enemy within six squares, ignoring walls and doors. The chosen character and each adjacent character (not including this character) take 40 damage. They are considered activated this round; save 16)
  • Damage Reduction 20 (Whenever this character takes damage from a nonadjacent enemy, reduce the damage dealt by 20. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.)
  • Weak Spots 10 (This character's Damage Reduction is reduced to 10 against attacks from adjacent enemies)
  • Resilient (Immune to critical hits)
  • Hostage Shield (When this character would take damage from an attack, designate an adjacent character that is not the attacker to take the damage instead. That character avoids this effect with a save of 11.)
  • Cyborg (Counts as both a Droid and a non-Droid; living; subject to critical hits and commander effects)

Losses have been heavy. Rebel defenses are stronger than anticipated. ~Stormtrooper commander

No politics, please... unless it's Star Wars politics, of course. ;)

I don't think you need "end it's move in" for Underground defense system - since the character has emplacement and it doesn't really sound like a reusable ability without emplacement. Is the save for tentacle attack just for the activation? Just to be clear, is the intent of Grab Enemy to allow the enemy movement to ignore walls as well, or just for counting spaces of the attack?

If I remember correctly even emplacements have to end their move in a legal space, so if it sets up in an illegal space and then ends its turn the universe explodes. The save is just for activation. Grab Enemy only ignores walls for choosing a character, nothing implies otherwise.

That's what I was figuring for those abilities, just wanted to make sure that is was you were going for.

I thoght this week wasn't suppose to be an epic, or a scenario piece?

... it Is rather epic. Not sure what to make of it. Where did Hostage Shield come from?

Well, we were supposed to *avoid* epicness (nothing about scenario characters mentioned), but with FIDO it couldn't really be helped. And I think this fits better with the current colossal style (AT-AT) than a cheaper character. As for Hostage Shield, FIDO used its claws to protect itself with an MT-AT Walker from enemy fire.

He did say make it SWM playable, not RPG/scenario didn't he?

You're probably referring to this: "try to make it more SWM and not RPG in cost And abilities". SWM, not playable in SWM. Is the AT-AT playable outside a scenario? No, but it is a WOTC-introduced part of SWM. This is similar to it and therefore very much fitted to the style of SWM, not distinct from it.

I guess to me, more SWM, means more mainstream SWM. The only time I ever, and I mean ever hear of an AT-AT being played is a scenario at Gencon... So I don't actually get what you mean, lol. To me, this is not a part of the CCC. Its cool, but its a scenario piece.

Scenarios are a part of the game, just not the competitive part. There's nothing about this character that disqualifies it from being in the CCC or in SWM. If you think about it, a Huge Falcon (which I see you've changed now) is even less part of mainstream SWM, because it doesn't at all fit the scale (the Falcon= a Snowspeeder? The same size in-game as a Rathtar, which it carried several of with plenty of room?)

Don't worry, you have my permission to not consider this entry at all in the CCC if you want to because you think this is not a part of the CCC. I'm not stopping you.

@Deaths_Baine The pre-Columbian natives could have definitely used several. . . . lol.

So could every possible nation in existence. Because at some point someone took territory over to create what is now here, not just the rebellion from England.
