Special Abilities

  • Cloaked (If this character has cover, he cannot be targeted by nonadjacent enemies)
  • Mines 20 (An enemy that moves adjacent to this character takes 20 damage; save 11)
  • Flamethrower 20 (Replaces attacks: range 6; 20 damage to target and to each character adjacent to that target)

During the Jedi Civil War, many leaderless Mandalorians used their skills at covert operations to ambush unsuspecting travelers.

this guy brought into Sith via the Lesser could be pretty dangerous. Fun design, annoying to play against, just like a Mandalorian Bandit. more defensive than the SpecForce Vanguard, much worse base stats, less range with Flamethrower, less possible damage, but it is auto. I like it.

I am questioning if it hits the parameters given by surfrider very well though. He is asking for a "soldier" quoting the thread, "Having said all this, lets build the perfect Mando trooper, someone who needs minimal CE or Unique SA's to be good."

Well I couldn't call he guy a soldier or trooper those are taken already haha. But I figured this guy was nice and cheap and you could just bring a squad of them with no commanders and do fairly well against most threats. They are protected from range as long as you posistion right, have a chance to hit back against melee with mines and flamethrower gives them a trick against the heavy defensive characters. But definitely open to critique if you or anyone else has any tweaks to make this guy more independent then he is.

… ahhh but where's the creativity in "Bandit" being in a military unit? Interesting design though! Base 8 (… a 20 Attack? Isn't that a bit much with just a 12 Defense??) Cloaked 12, Mines 15, Flamethrower 17 so its close as is ...

Also irregular military units were and are totally a thing. For the right amount of cash or the enemy of my enemy is my ally

Simple design, not a big problem unless you ignore him. Battle Ready might make that a more pressing concern. So don't ignore him. haha

Question about cloaked/mines combination - is there any way to avoid getting adjacent to defeat a character like this unless you have some very specific cloak removing abilities? I mean I guess using a force power against an adjacent target... if the enemy lets that happen.

Haha appreciated Surf. And Swine thanks that's kind of the angle I was going with is cheap surivible and with tricks to hold up in different scenerios mando style. And Oakel there are a few ways to deal with these guys without coming adjacent. You mentioned removing cloak and there is the sentry ability for that. There are abilities that ignore cover like heroine shatter rifle, Saber dart, War throat/screech/fire support mission/force repulse and even chain lightning that hits everyone within a certain number of squares.

Right, catching them out of cover/ignoring cover would mean they don't have cloak. Forgive me. A little slow today. :P

Maybe this bandit should not be subject to Mandalorian CE? That would make sense given they were separate from the Mando Faction during the time. I've been playing KOTOR recently, and this design does remind me of those pesky bandits, lol.

Hmm could give them anarchist and it would fit but I feel like that might increase their cost. Theme-wise you are bang on Shmi, as only Canderous or their bandit leaders commanded them, but gameplay-wise death watch works with normal hippie mandos and leaving as is may be simpler here. But something to consider. And also Oakel exactly if you shoot them in the open or ignore cover or don't target you can hit them easy enough.
