Essentially this character gives a limited version of accurate shot to abilities that replace attacks.

Targeting a square/space instead of a character...something that’s been avoided since the start of the game...interesting.

My guess is to avoid all the abuse of "area" abilities/powers and going around corners (so to speak). Sure it's realistic, but the idea for the game in general is a quick skirmish game that drastically simplified the rules from roleplaying.
