N3rdSl4y3r beats Hi-Fives (226-78) on Desert Palace

Hi-Fives set up on the right and moved down the main hallway. Jedi ran in from the left and Yoda got to gambit, but was left exposed after R7 opened the door and Rex put 40 dmg into him.

Yoda got dropped down to 40 hp with the help of traps, and then finally was finished after he took out the bothan. i thought I was cooked without the attack and damage boost, but Shien saved the day. Coleman killed Zeb, and then dies. Hi-Fives builds a scrub wall.

Shaak Ti kills R7 and avoids all of Hondo's shots. Rex pings some more shots. R2 tows in Saesee Tin to set up a Whirlwind Attack, which kills an uggie, sets off Presumed Dead on Rex and hits Kallus for 80dmg after a crit. R2 gets taken out and Saesee uses the force on the dice to survive a round that he should not have.

Coleman Kcaj gets off a Whirlwind to kill Kallus and put some damage into Hera. Saesee Tin rolls himself out of another near death situation and finsihes off Hondo. From here on out it was lots of dice rolls for attacks and Shien, with the majority coming in my favor. Yaddle and Coleman were able to clean up Rex and Hera to close out the game.

Very good game, and a lot closer than the score shows.

thereisnotry narrowly defeats urbanjedi 202-190 (3-1)

Jason rolled a 1 so I won the map roll and chose my map (Outpost 1). He set up on the left, and I had my guys in the top-right corner.

Round 1: Jason let me go first. I Resolnare'd my people up, then Venku used Force Awareness and opened the door. Jason spun some scrubs while I blasted doors and advanced my guys. At the end of the round, Jason moved his guys up and with a swap and some fortuitous movement he was able to hit 4 shots on Jango's 27 Def, bringing Jango down to 40hp right away. Ugh. No gambit. 0-0.

Round 2: Jason elected to go first in the second round so I Resolnare'd my people to safety inside the central building. Once again he spun his scrubs while I tried to position my people safefly. Once I was out, he began the assault. He swapped a Pilot forward, putting Kelborn in danger, so Venku used Force Awareness to move into a position where he would be taking the shots rather than Kelborn...bad idea. After a few volleys Venku was dead. Jason advanced all of his Pilots so that they could all swarm me the next round. Gambit for both. 42-10 for Jason.

Round 3: He activated his Pilot first and killed my Tactician. Then Jango ran out for one big Furious Assault, with 9 targets. What was significant here was that I was able to shoot all 6 of the Pilots...and then 5 of them failed their Evade saves immediately (even needing 9s). I followed up with Kelborn, killing a wounded Bothan and shooting the final Pilot with his Double, but that was Evaded. That Pilot shot ineffectually at Jango, and then the remaining Bothan used Mines on Jango. I used a Supercommando to shoot the final Pilot dead, and then the other one used Flamethrower to finish of the evil Protocol Droid. Soontir got swapped up for some shots on Jango, but only did 10dmg. BB-9E used Electric Grid on 3 of my people and did only 10dmg to Kelborn, because Beskargam helped the others. Gambit for both. 100-76 for me.

Round 4: Jango is sitting precariously at 30hp, so when Jason elected to go first I used Resolnare to move my Supercommando in front of Jango for protection, while Kelborn based BB-9E. Turr put 20dmg into my Supercommando, then ran to hide. Kelborn deleted BB-9E and a Supercommando flamed the final Bothan to death. Jason made a great move to swap Turr in on the other side of Jango, doing 20dmg and dropping him to 10hp (Jango is also Mined). My Supercommando responded by using Charging Assault to lay down 50dmg on Turr (down to 20hp). Jango then failed his Mine save and died with honor, having earned a place with his forefathers in Mando-Valhalla with his legendary Furious Assault. Gambit for me. 132-128 for Jason.

Round 5: Thrawn rolled a 1 for init! I Resolnare'd my one Supercommando to safety in the gambit room, and then activated the other one to shoot Turr to death. That Supercommando tried to run to safety but he couldn't get far enough. Jagged moved up and then Thrawn swapped him for Soontir Fel, who used Deadeye to kill my Supercommando (failed both Beskar saves). Gambit for me. 165-162 for me.

Round 6: Thrawn let me go first. I had a dilemma here, because I could retreat to safety in gambit and force Jason to come after me. But that's not The Way! So I Resolnare'd forward with my 2 remaining pieces. Then Kelborn charged up, hoping to do 60dmg with Cunning/GauntletKnife...but I hit just 1, leaving Soontir at 50. Soontir responded with Deadeye, bringing Kelborn to 20hp. My Supercommando then used Charging Assault to kill Soontir. This is The Way. Mas moved forward as far as he could. Thrawn killed Kelborn and swapped Jagged for Mas. Jagged then ran as far as he could, but he was 3 squares short of gambit. No gambit. 192-190, for me. [If Jag was just 3 squares closer, Jason would've won right here.]

Round 7: Thrawn rolled another 1 for init. I ran my Supercommando 12 squares into gambit; I didn't have enough damage output to kill Jag (would've left him at 10) and I didn't want to risk any bad dice. So that's how it ended: gambit for me, and a score of 202-190.

Whew! What a crazy game! Jason was winning decisively at the end of the first round, with Jango barely clinging to life. Jango's nice Defense and Beskar 6 is not enough when the enemy is shooting at +19s. However, things shifted when Jango made his game-changing swan-song Furious Assault, where he sniped 5 of the 6 Pilots. After that Jason's firepower was significantly curtailed, enough that my guys could make kills without getting immediately obliterated in response. If Mas or Jag had been able to advance just 3 more squares, we'd have a different result. Good game, Jason!
