My friends and I were discussing obsoleted or simply underpowered figures, and I was curious what the people here consider the worst, most underpowered, or just generally useless pieces in the game. What never sees play? What should work, but doesn't? What is overpriced and useless?

I know there are MANY_
but my own peeve is:
Kyle Katarn (UH)
if he had 20 base damage in addition to the LS +10, could be SO Great!

I think the only mini that is completely overshadowed in every single situation by another mini is the Old Republic Recruit (beat in every way by the Old Republic Guard).

Ahh...but if Rob decides to have a Commander Effect on a character for OR that says something like "Recruits gain Twin & Mobile", then the Old Republic Recruit becomes valuable again. So, in my opinion, NO mini is ever truly obsolete because the game can evolve. (see GGDAC for an example)

Rebel Commando...because the Veteran Commando is the same points and just better in every way. 10 more hp, 1 more attack, 1 more defense, 10 more damage and has all the same abilities PLUS mobile attack...The rebel commando is completely useless now.

But with Czerka Scientist and Gen Madine, it does 20 more Damage because it gains Twin Attack at 30 Damage instead of Jolt at 40 with Madines Cunning +20

Though against GOWK, I'd rather throw the Jolt save in there to maybe use FP's, because he doesn't want to fail THAT save.

Hmmm... obsolete would imply that a mini had a use at one time, and now doesn't. That's a hard one.

Obsolete
Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master: These two enjoyed brief star status in 100 pt games (? or was it 150) after Revenge of the Sith came out. Anakin has more viable and squad-worthy options, while Obi has been GOWK'd.

General Grievous (CS)- A shooter Grievous completely replaced by Grievous, SC- who was then replaced by GG, DAC.

CS Maul - COTF Maul loses Rolling Cleave, 1 Atk and 1 Def, but gains in everything else for 2 points cheaper. If you're paying for Triple Attack, you might as well pay for Quad.

OR Soldier - If you ever ran OR squads with troops, you had to use these, until the OR Guard came out.

Darth Malak- New one puts the boots to this one.

If there was ever a use for Komari Vosa, Maris Brood put a stop to that. And don't say Control Minds- nobody uses it, yet we all seem to care if it stacks with the customary combine fire CE that seems to come out with each new set... RollEyes

Highlights of minis that were NEVER playable off the start: (Too many to list)

Clone Trooper
BARC
Kyle Katarn
Most of the huges
and...

CARTH ONASI !!!

Carth and Maul(cs) are not really that bad,

the ones Id say are obsolete are:
Both Destroyer droids
Droid on STAP
Quinlin Vos(cs)
Vader(starter)
sidiouse(rs, and r&I)
Luke(Universe)
Leia Captive
most obi wans
Garm Bel Iblis(wedge/rieekan and twi lek vigo put him down)
allot of huges

The list goes on, I didnt want to waste allot of time.

Ok the most under powered mini is Barriss Offee, Jedi Knight. She should have Sorusu Style and MOTF 2 atleast she is a healer for heaven's sake.
I know many will disagree but the most obselete mini is any Vader but Vader Unleashed for pure fighting power, he is also one of the cheapest Vaders. I am not talking about CEs that other Vaders have here, i'm just taking about the usefulness of the piece for Force Powers and SAs.

for that many points, tou could take out the czera ans have 6 ERCs instead, already with twin, +ion gun, +override, +all of stat bonuses, =way more point effectivness.h

I had some, but Gemini and Awesome took most of them.
I have to agree with strate jackit on Darth Nihilus being underpowered.
The person that fits into both underpowered and obsolete is:
General Grievous, Jedi Hunter.
His attack and defense are low, and he doesn't have Jedi Hunter. That's what makes him underpowered. And now that you can do more damage against a Jedi with GGDAC, that's what makes him obsolete. Plus you get the commander effect.
And the Destroyer Droid may be somewhat obsolete, but it gets a huge bonus thanks to GGDAC. I sitll use them.

They are, but when they are gone, it is hard to win by himself.

The list which I don't find obsolete:
-Both Destroyer droids
-Droid on STAP
(These droids are NON-unique and gain massive bonuses from Battle Droid officer/GG,DAC and perhaps Genosian Overseer)
-Emperor Palpatine (definitely not obsolete, who wouldn't want a walking Force battery that can hold its own ground?)
-Garm (the people have spoken, mainly use Garm for reserves)
-Most huges are not obsolete such as Luke Snowspeeder, Felcor, Rancor, Krayt Dragon, the list goes on)

I said *most* huges, in every set there is 1 0r 2 good ones(for boosters with huges) and about 5 suckish ones,

destroyers are because for 30 or so points you could do way better than that now days,

Emperor palpatine is(its the one holding out lightning not the one with pawn of the dark side) because for 50 points palpy on thrown is defiantly better.

the STAP droid cant go very far, sure he CAN have the CE's but I dont think people will want to, he isnt nearly as good or as cheap as the newer ones.
