I know he is costed similarly to how he was costed in CS and RotS, but is anyone at all interested in what a "Grand Master" version of Yoda will seem like? With all the talk of GOWK and how unbelievable he is, could you imagine a Commander Effect like:

Characters in your squad may spend GM Yoda's Force Points. Characters with a Force Rating gain "Force Defense" Woot

Now you can't hit him with lightning either for the auto damage. Just food for thought...

I think his CE might more along the lines of "followers within 6 squares get +3 Attack and +3 Defense"

awesome

Yeah, and he will most likely be like this

Grandmaster Yoda
republic
cost 55
hp-120
att-+13
Def-20
dam-20

special abilities
unique, melee, double attack, twin attack, mobile attack

Force powers
force 2, renewal 2, MotF2, force stun, force defense, light spirit 6

CE
all followers within 6 gain +3 attack and +3 defense.

I was hoping for an Ataru Style Mastery.. something like +4 att/ +10 dmg if exactly one enemy is within 6 squares.. or something.

I doubt highly that he will have a force battery, or at least one for "allies" instead of "followers". There's a reason that Republic doesn't have a Force Battery, in that they're ridiculous enough already. I see people get so excited over the prospect of a Force Battery for Republic, particularly because of what it will do for GOWK, but I still contend that it will never happen, at least not for "Allies" (Followers, maybe...).

I could see him having Force Spirit. Regardless, I believe they'll make him very good, such that somebody would WANT to take him over the equally priced CS version (who, as we all know, is excellent).

@Ken Watson:

Exactly the same thing I was thinking. I see no reason why there should be a force battery for republic. They have enough support.

I'm thinking that since we know so far that Yoda gives a straight-up +3/+3 stat bonus for 55 points, he may be a replacement for GOWK if WOTC does indeed ban him. I am not seeing too much difference so far between the two, save for the fact that GOWK has a better CE, and for 55 points, he probably isn't going to be a beastly fighter. So why would they make him? Answer: either Wizards screwed up again and made a largely obsolete piece in a newer set or GOWK is going bye-bye soon and they're giving us a stat-booster replacement.

Yeah, in the next errata they are probably going to banish GOWK for being to over powered.

Wait. So we know Yoda gives +3/+3? Are the stats posted above correct? When were they spoiled?

We know Double + Twin as well as Force Defense and LS Defense and Followers within 6 gain +3/+3. Some of the community memebers have seen the cards but are respecting their owners wishes not to spoil things.... that or non-disclosure agreements... I'm not exactly sure which.

Is there somewhere you got this info? Do you know who saw the cards and what cards they saw?

OK, conspiracy's over. Yoda is an epic fighter as well as a sick commander.

I like how this new Yoda makes Caamasi Nobles a liability now instead of an asset.

Excellant stats, but I agree with amsnow....the fig really looks lame. Looks like an old decrepet Yoda, not a grand master fighter.
