It went a very unique direction, away from ESB. But yes some elements are the same, but like I said, they had to be because of where the movie started. I was thinking about more than just ESB :) Luke was really great, as i said imo characters where solid. I guess i'm a hipster star wars fan who likes Rogue One (commonly considered to be a cashgrab) the most out of all 3 new movies :). I like how they wanted to make a war movie set in Star Wars universe with a sort of "Saving Private Ryan's landing on Normandy" feel in the last act. I like Rogue One a lot too, we should see some more of that type stuff soon. I do not see how tlj copies that much though. I think the twists in it are incredible and smart.

parrot? I am guessing this refers to TN. TN doesnt work that way Caedus. I support when I see a need to support because it fits my views. That's it. I have not supported Shmi15 in any of this. Ok personal grudges somewhere else guys, back to discussing the actual movie now.........
SPOILERS:
I personally loved it, I'm a huge Star Wars fan in general and haven't been put off by any movie (well except the Ewoks movies, those were atrocious).
What I liked:
+Crazy epic action
+Amazingly exciting and new plot that I actually could not predict and kept me on the edge of my seat with huge twists
+excellent characters to go with that plot, Luke was totally the crazy old master and I really liked the varying flashbacks
+did I mention the freaking plot twists! Like what the heck? Who actually called those people dying???
+beautiful visuals! The salt covered planet was awesome!
What I didn't like:
+My normal ability to predict the outcomes of movies was eliminated hahaha
+The last random death in the movie, even though it was probably how they should have gone
Closing thoughts:
People hated the prequels for being to different, and Force Awakens for being to similar. You will never make everyone happy, but for those that predicted this would be new ESB, the only thing those movies had in common is someone going to find a Jedi Master, and there were walkers at one point, and if you are really stretching then casino world is sort of like cloud city?? (but come on even those things weren't even remotely like ESB, this was an excellent movie!)
Also the real question for us: new minis!!

SPOILERS The horse creatures. LUKE SKYWALKER (somehow you forgot haha.. the things you can do with the "illusion/projection" are amazing. better be something better than just "illusion") as far as Force Awaken re-dos BB-8 !!!!! and of course a cheap Leia with the force that is in a mentoring role. We need a wierd creature Luke milked with an ability called "nourishment" replaces attacks: allies can replace attacks to gain +2 speed until the end of their next turn.

He was brilliant. and because he was brilliant it makes Ben so much better. oh how I have longed for villains with substance and character. Luke's force withdrawal is amazing as well. The force is its own character in this film, just like it was in the original films, which was magical. Added question: (I didnt catch on the first read) you think I join his posse on other occassions? please do enlgihten me. Name one time when Shmi15 and I have "teamed up" seriously, go ahead. we usually do not agree on anything. If we get down to it We probably don't even agree on what makes TLJ great. You are 100% making things up because you had an emotional trigger of some sort. Your emotional trigger has seemed to blur your vision on how I post or when I post or what I post about. This whole "can you show me exactly where I said "jen'ari is a parrot" childish garbage is exactly the stuff that makes this game less than productive. Grow up Caedus have the balls to just say "my bad" and we will all just move on. or don't and all that happens is I think a little less of you and we still just move on.
