i don't know if it's like customary to do it on this site,
but i find that people don't answer their bloomails
until 3-4 days or even a week after i send them.
this is really annoying when i'm trying to get a trade
done, and i'm just waiting for them to respond, when
i could be looking for other people to trade with.
i try to respond to people as soon as possible when they
send me something (like the day i get it or the day after)
and it's not that they're not getting on, i can look at their
account and see that they've been on once or twice, or
every day since i've sent the bloomail, but they just don't
respond. i would ask every one to just respond to their
bloomails promtly, it's just being polite.

its a bit annoying, i agree.
But most people on this site wont respond to a trade proposal if it doesnt tickle their fancy. ive had that luck before, so i just stick to the people that Ive traded with.

Mellow why, when is a request for a trade not random?
when you don't have a post up that you're looking
for stuff? i think that's kinda rude to the poor guy
that just wants to use the site for the purposes it
was made for. trading is supposed to be mutually
beneficial, if you don't think a trade is beneficial,
then you could at least have the curtesy to tell
somebody that.

I think this is the reason that brings us to the topic of this thread.

I would consider a random trade request to be like the one I just received, asking if I'd be willing to trade a few pieces from my collection (not my trades). But, that being said, I still responded to the guy and pointed him to my trades list. It took about 30 seconds.
Sometimes I'll wait a day or so to respond to a trade request. Often times I'm just thinking it over, but other than that I try and respond as quickly as possible. If you're that concerned about it some people put a 48 hour notice on their trade request/response. That way if they don't answer in two days time, you can just move on.

Considering I don't use the site for trades, yes it is random. A PM that says "Do you have X for trade?" is slightly annoying, especially I don't exactly have a Haves list set up. Obviously they are fishing for someone to trade with, and they will find someone. If they are just hoping on me, then too bad.

Always reply. Evan if you dont like the look of the deal take the time to say no thank you. Its is about 99.9% more courtiose to say a no rather then completly ignore them. I have had people that take ages to respond but i usually forget.

I always reply. I gave up on sending trade requests. The ones I have left are people I have bothered too much already. I think I will either have to buy my pieces or wait until the next set to see if I get some new stuff to trade.

I try to always reply promptly, whether I like the offer or not. Courtesy is everything. I just may find myself wanting to make that person an offer later...

Bottom line is, the whole system only works smoothly when people communicate, and in an appropriate time span. When that doesn't happen we are just stuck putting time limits on our offer to keep things moving forward.

Also, I generally remember who the non-responders are and look elsewhere next time around... Glare

I always respond as soon as I can, often within the day. When it comes to deal requests, if I don't hear back within a few days I usually move on. Really depends how much I want the mini and what I'm willing to put up with.

Angry It's just plain rude not to respond. It shows a lot about your character. It doesn't take that long to send an answer. If your not going to answer every trade offer, then remove your items from the trade list. (steps down from soapbox)

I tend to respond promptly. Not always, but I try. But agian if it's just a trade PM, I send off five or six requests with the expectation that they might not respond. I think It's polite to respond, but I can understand SB just ignoring it. And I wouldn't call him rude for doing so, considering he doesn't have a trade list available

on the top of my trade thread, it says that i will not respond to ridiculous offers at all.
i dont feel like i should waste my time explaining as to why i think that a trade offer is unfair. if someone doesnt realize the value of the mini they want, then they shouldnt even offer up a trade.
thats not to say that people who request trades fairly, should be treated the same, because they shouldnt be treated the same.

well here I disagree, the value of the mini can vary from person to person depending on experience with the game or what they use it for. There are those who may only collect SWM for its rpg value which could be different from that minis competitive value. Beyond that, not everyone cares about making trades based 100% on the monetary value of the minis either. So, determining what is fair can be hard for some people coming from different perspectives. Of course, I'm not saying a trade for Boba, BH will ever be fair if it's for a Duros Scoundrel or something, but I would hope anyone could see the flaw in that deal. Though if I saw that in my inbox, I'd still respond. I may not be happy, but I'd respond.
