A pass mechanic in the game would destroy her ability to compete. Once she is out activated it is an up hill battle.
At this point I think we need to stop looking to individual characters and start looking at the game's mechanics instead.
High act squads that have been nerfed.

I feel like we’ve had a gentleman’s (and ladies!) agreement not to play Daala and Thrawn last year. But really they’re still the best two squad builds out there, even with last year’s changes to Morrigan and tempo control (neither of which adversely affected Daala anyway).

Classic out act and smash still reigns supreme. Would be nice to have a pass Mechanic like Imperial Assault or Armada. Much better to actually be outplayed rather than just out activated...

Her having access to every decent commander in imperial. IS. Her design was horribly unthematic. She did not work well with others, other than Tarkin and Pallaeon. She should have had affinity for NR. I hate the idea of banning characters, but other than another errata (please no) I dont know how we nerf her. This tourney made it abundantly clear that you either run something to stop Daala and lose to the rest of the field, or you hope you dont play Daala. I want it known it isn't a slight on anyone. You play what is legal. Maybe it's time for Daala not to be legal.

Yep, I think it's best just to ban her.
I was thinking that giving her Rival for Uniques other than Tarkin or Pellaeon would work (eliminating Piett and Needa) but there are still too many other NPE squad options.
And I'm not so sure that Thrawn is still a problem, now that Ozzel is effectively gone. Am I mistaken here?

No one’s really played Mitt Thrawn this past year but I’m assuming that he’d still dominate. Nothing that’s been played really outactivates him and there haven’t been many scissor squads around.
