I think he was referring more to the original design of the game not having a specific abilities that counter existing abilities, not the override special ability itself.

Either way, more important things to discuss... like....

What maps do you or do you not want to play this Saturday? List them here. If there are specific maps for Gencon you want to try out or prepare for, let's here it.

Thanks!

So, I just realized that this is maybe an hour away from where I live now in Cleveland. I may try to come play this September if I can get time.

I think we should make some House/game store rules, we'll always use, except, as Joe pointed out in another thread,
when we want to test a competitive squad.

#1 for me is mouse droids(no spoilers there)
they don't block movement, provide cover, or count as the closest target, except when adjacent.

I thought we'd all get one rule, no debate.
after that, we can discuss any other changes we want.

any one else have an idea

we made the following house rules for SWM:
#1 implemented the logical mouse changenormal door after attacking
#2 force users with a lightsaber, may spend 1 FP to open a normal door, within LOS, before moving, or
close a normal door, after attacking.
#3 all unique characters, without melee, gain limited accurate shot, meaning they may target any enemy,
within 6 squares
#4 all characters with FP's and a lightsaber, are able to ue LSD, once per turn, without spending a FP.

next, we a considering, which vset pieces we will ban.

Mind you, this is like all our house rules: needs to be agreed on before each session. (our house rules reset to "zero" each time)

they do?
so we have to re-agree each month?
I though these were set, unless practicing for a tournament

I thought they were like all the other stuff we did. Agreeing on certain restrictions for that day. Mind you, we can always agree to use these again, or use these for a few months running. As a group we don't abuse the things that can be abused. We play for fun. (you don't bring Bastila all the time, I don't play Vong all the time, etc. etc. etc.)

Given that we don't use the uber tournament stuff in our "fun" games, I don't want to ban anything permanently.

edits to content ::

#1 implemented the logical mouse change
#2 force users with a lightsaber, may spend 1 FP to open/close a normal door, within LOS, before/after moving/attacking.
#3 all unique characters, without melee, gain limited accurate shot, meaning they may target any (normally targeted) enemy, within 6 squares.
#4 all characters with FP's and a lightsaber, are able to use LSD, once per turn, without spending a FP.

Expansion to #1 due to extended thought ::

Given that there are many boosting abilities to mice, such as grenades/healing from Rodian Traders, extended relay range and Gen Grevious' +4 def, etc., which would goof up the 'not a legal target' idea, I feel that the simplest solution would be to give mice the "Design Flaw" ability, where all printed stats and abilities cannot be modified besides their cost. Which makes sense with Gha Nachkt since he's a scraper and hence cheaper cost droids anyways.

Mice are merely relay messengers -- namely on the death star. They are insignificant and should not be boosted, nor interfere with others' actions. They are what they are, so please stop making them something they shouldn't be. Wink

we talked about doing a scenario this month.
I picked up a copy of Ultimate Missions, Rebel Storm, and I've been looking at scenarios online.
Got a few idea's to run next Saturday.
does that sound cool?

That sounds cool to me. I know Kreg likes doing scenarios too.

Will you be bring all the minis/maps for the scenarios then? What do you want us to bring?
