V-set 14 is deep into the design phase, and already has the set list locked in and rough drafts of almost all the characters.

In other words - it's time to start brainstorming for set 15 and beyond!

We don't know who the designers for that set are yet, but these threads are vital to get your voice heard. Trust me - as designers, we do read these. Every single set has taken suggestions from these threads (and the more people that suggest something, the higher chance it gets of being used!)

- Over half of the characters in set 14 were suggested somewhere in these "what would you like to see" threads.

So tell us, what:

Characters, abilities, game mechanics, etc do you want to see in set 15?

I would love to see some of the minor Clone Wars characters. The Republic and Separatists don't need any help competitively, but there's a wealth of characters in the Clone Wars. Even one-hit-wonders like Ima-Gun-Di and Tera Sinube were still really well-developed. On top of that, there are the handful of recurring Clones - Waxer, Boil, Echo, Fives - that really deserve minis.

So I've got my list of suggestions below, but in general I really like seeing minor characters that got 5 minutes of fame, whether on Clone Wars or something else.

My top picks (i.e. Read this, don't worry about the second list)
Ima-Gun-Di
Kao Cen Darach
Nico Okarr
Captain Keeli
Republic Commando Gregor
Commander Thorn - He's a Coruscant Guard. The Coruscant Guards aren't truly a 'subfaction,' just one piece and a commander to boost them, but my point is Thorn already has a framework to fit in to. (On top of which, he has a repeating blaster, and those are amazing).
Maul from Rebels would be amazing.

I would love to see some sort of piece that really has a great 'last stand' sort of feel. My favorite characters are usually those who end up dying after facing down impossible odds - i.e. Kao Cen Darach vs. Malgus and Vindican, Ima-Gun-Di and Keeli vs. droids, Commander Thorn vs. droids, etc.

This would be incredibly hard to do, but it would be great to have new versions of Thrawn and Loathsome that play completely differently than their current iterations. Thrawn doesn't seem to have changed much for Rebels (aside from training in close-quarters combat...?), but something other than Master Tactician + Swap that was interesting enough to compete for play time would be cool. Same with Loathsome - it has been duly noted that Loathsome has one of the best commander effects in the game, and is one of the least deserving commanders in Star Wars history (I might even put him below Phasma Flapper). If there was some way to make him into a good 12-15 point support commander (where he BELONGS - alongside those goofball Moffs and such), that would be cool. Just some sort of niche CE or Tactician or something, so he's a worthwhile throw-in if you just need a little extra "something."
(end important suggestions)

Some other suggestions:
Lieutenant Thire, Jek, and Rys - Yoda's escort from the very first episode of Clone Wars.
Latts Razzi
C-21 Highsinger
Echo
Fives
Tiplee, Tiplar, and Commander Doom could be the base for their own Tier 2 squad type.
Captain/Admiral Tarkin
Cut Lawquane
The Onderon Rebels - Saw, Steela, Lux, generic Rebels, General Tandin. This could be a fun subfaction - Republic with Independent Outfit? Lux in particular is an interesting recurring character.
He only shows up for about 10 seconds and then gets shot, but Captain Jayfon would be cool. Not sure what exactly the Senate Commandos could use that wouldn't make them overpowered, but again, Jayfon already has a subfaction to be built into.

+ to fringe maul, and new Jaden as well as the fringe bounty hunters from clone wars we don't have yet.

50 point fringe Son and Daughter pieces, that work with the father. She could be epic healer/defender and he could be a force of dense monster. With both being able to do the flying beast attack.

My top always requested pieces for years now:
Abeloth, Cheap Grievous with battle droid prideful, Rianna Saren+Zeeo, and NK-1 Necrosis or ability to bring grievous into imperials but make him become a droid only. Would really help bring dark troopers and Sith reserve droids into competive flavour

Can we also get a Huge-based model of the Rebell phantom? Using the rebel troop cart, and allowing characters to fire from it? I created a custom but I think it would be sweet to see. My take on it:

http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/27245/hera-syndullas-phantom

It really helps boost up Zeb and Chopper, the two lacking ghost members

Also related but different: General Kalani as a Separatiat/Affinity to be in a rebel squad with Ghost characters

Sith Vader.

It can be the Rogue One Vader, or whatever, but we need a Sith Vader. for the Sith faction to not have one of the most deadly, powerful, ruthless, jedi hunting Sith of all time is appalling.

Ganner Krieg (imperial Knight)
Antares Draco (Imperial Knight)

Calo Nord

Darth Stryfe, Hand of Krayt

Luke Skywalker showcasing his force powers.

Republic Anakin that can kill Dooku and be equal to Obi-Wan

Dooku that beat obi-wan and anakin (non commander, just duelist)

1) Special ability to counter Explosive Traps, or more commander effects, Force Powers, or special abilities to help with increases to saves, especially because of that crazy commander giving the Fringe swarms access to grenades 30 from 12 range, and then, with Tarpals, letting them launch 2 times!

2) More characters with Rigging Diffuser.(Currently only 1 character with this ability) Make Fringe for all factions to have access.

3) More Vong Hunter ( Currently only 4 characters with this ability ) Make it for the Fringe faction, giving all factions access

4) Counter to Suppressive Fire. Maybe an ability called "Battle Awareness" or "Heightened Battle Senses", which states "ignores characters with Suppressive Fire".

5) More characters with Sokan (Currently only 1 character with this ability). This is an awesome ability that counters "Rigged Detonators"! Make it in the Fringe faction, to give all factions access.

6) More characters with "Infrared Vision". Need more counters to cloak, as there are currently only 2 characters in the game with this ability.

There should not be any special ability, commander effect, or Force Power in the game that is impervious, and that doesn't have any counter.

New Ezra with dark temptation and dominate.

Vong help for Shamed One: Yun-Shuno Priest

More Bane Book stuff. A Hoth that isn't outclassed by non-uniques, Worror Dowmat with battle meditation of some sort and force bubble that counters lighting or reflect lightning. and Kas'im, Sith Blademaster

I posted these in the V14 thread just as it closed.

Those are some interesting ideas! If I may ask, what sorts of pieces would you like to see these abilities on? Sokan and Battle Awareness I'm thinking Jedi/Sith, but what about Infrared Vision/Rigging Diffuser? I'm always a fan of Vong Hunter too ThumbsUp

This is a thread for posting ideas, not debating them, so please don't take this the wrong way, I just wanted to out point a few things.

(a) I am totally on board with something to help with Black Sun Grenades. Those are nasty. Some sort of 25-30 point Fringe guy handing out Explosives Expert would be cool. I think you'd want a piece that counters grenades in general, not just Explosive Traps, as there's only one character with Explosive Traps.

(b) As of right now, there are only two characters with Rigged Detonators, and both seem to mainly be used in all-fringe squads. Since the chances of seeing Rigged Detonators are already fairly small, Rigging Diffuser will usually only jack up the price of an otherwise good piece. Also, Rigged Detonators is a powerful ability and therefore costs a lot. If there's an easy Lobot reinforcement with Rigging Diffuser, it just obsoletes pieces with Detonators.

(c) Suppressive Fire is itself a counter. There are three characters with Suppressive Fire. Two of them are good, but (a) only because of Suppressive Fire and (b) they have Twin, so they can only hit one enemy with it. The third has Double instead of Twin, but he is so infrequently used I have to look him up to remember what he does. I think there is room for some sort of "This character's abilities that prevent or reduce damage cannot be suppressed" ability.

Just a side note; two of the four Vong Hunters are Fringe, and one is cheap enough to be brought in with Lobot. They aren't used very much, so maybe a better Vong Hunter is in order, but Fringe does already have two Vong Hunters.

Again, I think these are great ideas, and there are a lot of ways these could be incorporated. I'm just thinking that these abilities aren't widespread enough to need counters yet. (That said, my friend and I rarely run these types of squads, so maybe I just haven't been burned yet Razz)

I second Commander Thorn. The Corruscant Guards are pretty sweet, but would be better if they could be used more on their own.

All due respect my friend, having access with Lobot, to bring in the 20pt droid with Vong Hunter, is useless against an entire 200pt "nasty" Vong team. I'm thinking a commander that gives Vong Hunter to followers. Now that would be cool!

As far as a counter to "Suppressive Fire" and "Rigged Detonators", it's just that in my LGS, every other guy brings in either Morrigan, Syndulla, or Mira, and it's becoming slightly boring and stagnant, to always see these same characters. We need a counter, to the counter, IMHO ThumpUp

A bit over overkill in both cases. Rigged could've been -4 to saves instead of auto-fail, for example. Too many counters to counters (to counters) is an even worse problem, IMO.

Big +1

In fact I am a big supporter of "lighter" versions of abilities that were made too strong ("oops")

Example ---> Jedi Reflexes was made into a "lighter" version: Force Attuned Reflexes. The former had a lot of collateral damage, unfairly affecting squad types that needed no hate, while the latter more accurately captured the intent of the original ability, countering specifically what it was meant to.

Sometimes abilities were well intended but ended up way too strong (I'm looking at you Supressive Fire). See Plasma Bolt as another example of "lighter" abilities.

Having "lighter" abilities will hopefully encourage future designers to not use the old "too strong" versions.

You'll see some new examples like this in vset 14. ;)
