OK so does faction pure mean you can play fringe only? Just checking. Also are the custom maps cool?

Wow, great report Boba52! I'll try to see what I remember about my 250 game. I was facing Monni316 on the old Munnilst Map. I have a NR squad with GMLS, Kol, Kyp, Leia, Wedge, and Jolee Bindo. Monni316 had Boba BH, Jango BH, Rex, Panka, Jarel, The DW, Lobot CLO, R2 Astromech, and Mas. First round, I move my pieces up and put GMLS in gambit. Leia takes a few hits, and then is Disintegrated. Next round Lobot gets reserves and brings in Zuckuss and Wicket. After that, I don't really remember it in detail. Jarel was in gambit, and died to a Push 2, Lighting, and Twin from GMLS. Boba, Jango and Rex took shots at Kyp and Jolee and got swapped around a lot. Boba and Jango did a lot of damage, but Rex barely ever made a shot. Throughout the next few rounds GMLS charged up and attacked the DW and someone else. Kyp and Kol took some hits and Jolee died. The last round before the time ran out Jango, Boba, and R2 were all grouped up around Kol and Kyp. Monni won init and used Jango to kill Kol. Kyp then activated and used Push 5 to kill R2 and put a lot of damage on Boba and Jango. GMlS killed Zuckuss and Monni made a mistake and had Mas take an AoO on luke. Amazingly it hit and Luke hit back, killing Mas. The time limit ran out, and I had just lost, 100 to 106. We had extra time though so we decided to play it out. Kyp almost killed Jango but missed some of his attacks before dying. Luke and Wedge were my only characters left, but Wedge was just hiding. However, Luke only had 30 dmg and managed to clean up the rest. It actually got pretty close in the end because Luke failed to deflect a 30 dmg shot from Panka. It was a really fun game, and very close. I just feel bad for Monni because his Rex could barely ever make a shot.

Yesterday was a really fun time with faction pure squads. I decided to try out the new Luminara from the map pack. My squad was:
Grandmaster Yoda 55
Luminara Unduli, JM 40
Barriss Ofee, JK 30
Antarian Ranger 12
Mas Amedda 8
Jedi Youngling 5

My first game was against Darthraven who had Shado, EJA, Leia, Wedge, two NR troopers, and Dodonna. Luminara and Barris moved into gambit the first round and just stayed there the rest of the game. Shao, Leia, and the EJA moved in the second round and engaged them and Yoda in melee combat while Wedge an the NR troopers stayed back. Shado used up his FP too quickly using them on re-rolls and LS precision and died pretty early one. Barris had taken some damage and Darthraven concentrated most of his attacks on her. But with her ridicously high def and Darthraven's bad rolls she couldn't be hit. I had killed leia, and Darthraven moved his EJA to attack Barris. However he was adjacent to my Youngling and Luminara and only had 40 HP left. My Youngling got luck and hit with his AoO, and Luminara of course made her's. With only Dodonna, Wedge and his NR troopers left, and none of my characters defeated Darthraven desided to forfit the game.

My next game was against Boba52 with Malak DLOTS, tow Sith Apprentices, two Sith Lords and Holo Sid. I don't have time to describe the game now, maybe I will later or Boba52 can but it was actually a close game because Luminara managed to Kill Holosid early on due to Master Speed. However it all cam down to one init. in the middle of the game which I lost. So in I was defeated and Boba52 had a SA with full HP and Malak and half HP.

This is an experiment to allow players to play more games & face more opponents & I personally will use it to field more squads.

9/7 MN SWM Report from Dreamers
Format: 150 points
DCI floor rules (exception:players may start within 8 squares from the edge & 30 minute time limit)
The exception was geared toward being able to play more squads & more games. It worked well.

Game 1-
vs Jediabiwan2
My squad:
115 Grand Master Luke Skywalker
23 Jarael
9 General Dodonna
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

I got crushed against JA2’s GGDAC squad. I was heavily out activated & in that case (which will almost always be the case) Luke needs to be on his game & I only made 1 save out of the several attempts.

Game 2-
Vs Garret
My squad:
49 Darth Malak, Dark Lord of the Sith
28 Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler
27 Jedi Battlemaster
23 Jedi Crusader
5 Youngling
18 Ugnaught Demolitionist x6

I won against his Thrawn squad which featured a Noghri Commando & an Imp Sentinel. I think I just had him overpowered here due to an inferior squad design.

Game 3-
vs Jediabiwan2
My squad:
71 Darth Vader, Legacy of the Force
23 Jarael
18 Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo
13 Czerka Scientist
11 Admiral Ozzel
8 Mas Amedda
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

I won by 4 points in a very close game. I was aggressive early with Jarael basing his Magnaguard which was in a variant of his previous squad. I had the opposite luck here & missed only 1 save out of even more attempts. Jarael stood up well but eventually was defeated but did enough damage to make it impossible for him to defeat Vader who took point in the time left. Good game!

Game 4-
Vs Garret
My squad:
115 Grand Master Luke Skywalker
23 Jarael
9 General Dodonna
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

Bad match up against his Vong squad. Much better squad design by Garret here. This was a heartbreaker for me as I had victory assured even with losing Jarael as Luke was a beast but I made 2 stupid mistakes at the end which brought sudden defeat. Mistake 1 was to press with mere minutes left on the clock. Mistake 2 was to take an AOO on his Kel-Dor, BH whom I forgot had self destruct which put 40 on Luke taking him down to 50 to left. He then used Kohuun Infestation with his assassin droid & Luke with 3 attempts to save could not & that’s all folks. Good play by Garret though it was surely my own stupidity that lost that game!

I hope to see things back to normal next week though it was fun with just Garret, JA2 & myself the last 2 sessions!

Well the obvious answer would be when you can have the most players there. For example, we play on Monday nights cause 2 of our members work the weekend.

Hey guys. Gamers launched a new spot on their homepage for downloads and the first item is a sweet scenario by Leshippy. Why don't you guys check it out and let me know what you think.

http://swmgamers.com/page.php?30

I am pretty sure I have all these pieces except I probably only have 1 Geo on Picador, though if you guys want to do the scenario I am sure we can make it work. Any way the best part would be no one needs to bring minis or maps to the event. Just show up and play!

Ok so the big question of the night was how to resolve Djem So on Djem So action.

Here is the Djem So Mastery glossary

Djem So Style Mastery

Whenever this character is hit by a melee attack, make a save of 11. On a success, this character can make an immediate attack with +10 Damage against that attacker.

Here is Resolving effects rule 10-

Resolve effects that trigger when this character is hit. Some effects trigger (or can voluntarily be triggered) when the target is hit by an attack, such as Evade, Flurry, Lightsaber Block, Lightsaber Deflect, Lightsaber Reflect, and Lightsaber Riposte. (Force Points may be used to reroll saves on this step, if the character is still able to use Force Points during this turn.) If multiple effects trigger, use the simultaneous effects rule to determine the order in which they are resolved. You may see the results of one effect before resolving another, but no single effect may be resolved more than once. For example, a character can never Lightsaber Deflect the same attack twice. (Effects such as Flurry and Lightsaber Riposte begin new attack sequences that interrupt this sequence; resolve the new attack completely, then continue where you left off with the original attack.)

So, basically if you have GMLS on GMLS you keep track of damage and when one player has reduced the other players HPs due to successful Djem So saves and attacks then the player with the hp left (if any) would make their Djem So save and if they were successful they would just choose not to attack and the cycle is broken and damage is resolved.

Upcoming events at Dreamers:

Oct 19th Open gaming. I don't know if I will make this one, so if you know you are going to be there feel free to post an event you would like to try or just show up and play.

Oct 26th Scenario Event. This will be a scenario of the battle of Geonosis Arena. All pieces and maps will be provided. This would be a great chance to show up and learn how to play.

Nov. 2nd Sealed Tournament. This is a release event for Galaxy at War. DCI floor rules apply. $35 entry and prizes will be awarded.
